I agree with you Nicole and Venno I would love to have more than one mini. If only my husband didn't need a larger vehicle to tow his boat. Someone stopped me the other day at work and they had a large truck and she said I think we can fit your car in my truck I had to agree with her.

He he reminds me of a shirt that I made....Problem is that I now with 'lil' and my friends here also have classicsl....and they are well.. even smaller than the newer MINIs....so it makes the shirt not too accurate over here...ehh..I'll still wear it in the states...

So far we have 1 mini and a Dodge Durango notice how I say so far.  My husband bought the Durango to haul our boat but who knows he loves my mini so much and I told him he has to get his own because I am not giving up ZIGGYsmile

Congrats! Sounds like a good time for a change, with a new Mini and all! biggrin.gif There's been a few jobs I was sad to leave, and some where leaving was the best thing I ever did.

I love the children that I work with it will be very hard for me to leave them and alot of them have told me that they will miss me it is all the other crap I deal with on a daily basis that has really gotten to me.  I am going to enjoy my new MINI and not look back

MJB-Wow, resigning from your job!  When we left to move here, I waited until our house sold to resign and even then it was scary!  I have always worked, but working in education allows the summer to enjoy.  Of course I usually spend most of the summer planning the next year.
My MINI is finally at the "production" stage.  She has a VIN number and everything!  How long for Ziggy once he(?) hit the production stage?  My hubby has said he is a bit jealous about the new car.  I suspect that he will spend time driving it this summer.  DD and I usually use the bikes in the summer to go to the pool.

I know resigning can be frightening for some but this has been something my husband and I knew was coming and it is for the best.  I have wanted to do something different in the school that I was working at and they were supposed to go by senority but they didn't and they knew I wanted to be in a different position so now I am right out the door which I was planning since last summer.

Okay I ordered ZIGGY on March 15th he was in production on March 19th completed on March 31st was on a boat to the USA on April 1st arrived into New Jersey on April 12th picked him up at Towne on April 25th and he arrived at Towne on April 19th  I waited to pick him up because I wanted a nice long weekend with him and I ended up taking the Friday off that we picked him up.

So about a week and a half for production....I have waited 4 weeks so far...I can wait a bit longer...She should still be on schedule for the end of June.
We won't be able to do the rally that weekend even if she is in. We have company company coming in for the weekend. Unless their work schedule gets changed. At that point, I will be on summer break so it will be a nice long summer to motor around.
Daughter is going to karate tonight so I've got to go....I should be on later. Have a good evening!

I wish I could say the time will fly by but it seemed like the days dragged by for me but it is certainly worth all the wait, you have to remember though I waited almost a whole year before I ordered ZIGGY to me it seemed easier to wait to order instead of waiting for it to arrive.

A whole year?  We decided in about 2 weeks that we would trade in the truck and get a mini.  We had been talking about trading in our truck.  We used to have a camper and needed the truck to pull it, but did not bring it with us when we moved.  We have no intention of buying another one. (we've decided to become tent campers!)  The truck is 8 yrs old and a gas guzzler.  We had just watched The Italian Job and I mentioned the mini.  There was a dealer back home right around the corner from where we lived, but didn't know about here.  He did all the research and said one day...let's test drive!  We went back 2 days later and bought it.  I have the picture on my board at work and the kids keep asking when it will come in.  I think they are as excited as I am. I am excited to have better gas mileage!  How is Ziggy doing on gas mileage?  How about other 07/08 minis?

Bruto gets 30ish with mixed driving. If I were a little lighter on the acceleration it would be even better. biggrin

That is so much better than the 14.5 mpg I get right now! I get excited when the computer says I am getting almost 16 mpg. I can't wait!

I know waiting a whole year was tough. I knew I had to wait it was circumstances beyond our control that made us wait. I wanted one for years after I saw the Italian Job.

Gas mileage is awesome we are getting over 35mpg in the city and not sure on the highway. All I can say is I filled up the day before Mother's Day and I still have over 200 miles to empty. We are filling up on Friday because we are coming to Buffalo this weekend.

That is great! And you have an automatic. I put 150 miles on my truck each week just driving to and from work. That doesn't include trips to the store, taking DD everywhere. She is already figuring that by the time she gets to drive, she will either get my MINI and I will get a new one or she will get DH car and he will get a new one. I used to drive a beat up old pick up truck and a 75 cougar back in my day! Kids around here can't drive to school until they are seniors anyway.
Have a great weekend in Buffalo! I'm sure half of the fun will be getting here! We are hoping to play a little golf or at least get to the driving range. Then the neighborhood is having a cookout. I think I'll do a turkey on the grill with all the fixings....

Yes I have an automatic and I am glad that I went with the automatic it is alot of fun to drive I am never bored with my vehicle. My son wants my old car he is too scared to learn to drive on the mini. I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that he wants to have when he is old enough to drive he will probably change his mind by the time that happens.
