Brian - I haven't eaten meat in almost 11 years smile.gif I've been transitioning to a vegan lifestyle this year and am about 85% there with the intent to get to 100% soon. I post a little on the Post Punk Kitchen forums as fullofveggies. I agree that what an individual eats is up to them, but sometimes it is nice to have the cameraderie of like minded people. Epecially MINI owners! PepperMINI is vegetarian too and we used to have Venno - maybe he will re-change his mind though. biggrin

Lifestyle choices aside, it's nice to have another new MINI owner around, the hubby (SPDinNY) will be very envious of your JCW, it sounds like you're getting the one he wants! When do you expect to take delivery?

I am sure you thought of this, but most MINIs at least to my knowledge come with a leather steering wheel, if that is of concern to you. Also the shift knob is leather. At least this is true on mine.

He's right! And lets see VeganBrian is 21 years old. Let me think here. Hey VeganBrian you would not be thinking of those nice red and black leather sports seats would you? They really do set this inside of the car off. If not what are you looking for?

Beef all the way! I don't believe in wearing leather shoes, gloves, coats and leaving the rest of the cow behind. That is just inhuman. So the grill is heating up. Did someone say cookout?

Brian hasn't done anything to push his lifestyle choice on anyone; he hasn't said anything to anyone condemning the way that they eat. And from his pevious posts I don't think that is his agenda here at all.

Can we please stop the discussion of "mmmm meat is so wonderful" and "I love hunting" etc. Just to annoy the veggies around here? I think the antagonism is rather out of line with the spirit of MINI.

sorry. I turned the grill down. Waste of gas and all. Did I say gas? Think I'll drive the MINI to the store instead of the Ram 2500 Hemi saves gas. Do like the sound of the HEMI though. It's a Mopar thing you would not understand. LOL wounder if I could take the Hemi and make it the Blower for the 1600L MINI engine. be right back.
..........................................................you are on hold..................scott will be right back.......................please enjoy the music................................

Hello I'm back. The Mini started to cry so I put the HEMI back. LMAO! Besides Maureen would kill me.

Now Now... that still does not help me in figuring out how to use the HEMI as a blower for the MINI with out Maureen knowing.

its all good, i deffinitly am not pushing my beleifs, I get it all day from co workers anyways and it doesnt bother me. ill let you all know i am not that type of vegan at all. all my friends eat meat right in front of me and i am not bothered by it. Its strictly for my own body and if eating meat is what you like then i say go for it. All i want is for everyone in this world to be as happy as they can be. About the mini having leather. I am sadly aware of that but that comes along with all cars and cannot be avoided till aftermarket becomes a option once i get my JCW. hehe. Trust me, i have lots of plans for this mini. And i would love to go to a BBQ ill bring some veggie snacks for the fellow veggies and the rest of you can bring your meat and we can all have fun and talk about minis hehehe. then go for a cruise somewhere fun!!!!! in our minis and not hemis haha

The leatherette is ok, but I really liked the cloth seats in one of the loaners I had from Towne. If I were ordering a new car now I'd go with the cloth.

We won't push meat on you - promise! I love veggies just as much, but hubby on the other hand ...you'd have to go a ways to get him to not eat meat. You can call him Bacon for short LOL.  I think it's wonderful to be able to make a choice! Sue biggrin

Brian,
Yeah, My sister call Scott "The Baconator". It is pretty funny. Every time he gets his hands on bacon I tell him I can hear his veins clogging up...LOL Trust me, it hasn't helped! I have to hide vegtables and disguise them  or he won't eat them. I do a pretty good job of it though! I hid zuccini in a great chocolate cake last week...hehehehe. He ate it!  Hey do Vegans eat eggs?
When are you getting your car????

haha the baconator. priceless. Vegan is someone who lives a strict vegetarian lifestyle. A vegan does not use or wear nor consume absolutely nothing that was made from an animal, made BY an animal (ex. honey) or tested on an animal. So things like leather, fur, eggs, cheese, honey, milk, whey, caisen, and obviously any meat cannot be consumed by a vegan.

I am very used to explaining that, haha. I am getting a call back tomorrow about the car and hopefully everything will be figured out and all good. otherwise i get no car. which would suck.

So I have a question, and it is not meant to be insulting or sarcastic. If being vegan requires no use of animal byproducts, how can a vegan use gas? Gas is includes animal byproducts be it focalized but without sea creatures settling into the depth of the pre-historic ocean gas would not be gas. I know much of it is also plant matter but not all.

Again I do not mean to upset anyone I am just curious to see what you all have to say. It would seem hypocritical to use something that is an animal byproduct just because there is not an convenient substitution.

a vegan lifestyle is something that is chosen and is known to be 100% impossible no matter what you try to do. But being vegan is trying your best to not use or consume animals or by-products. but its impossible to avoid accidental consumpion or accidental use. for Ex. Going to see a movie is not a vegan thing. If they are useing the old movie reels insted of digital then the reel acually has some kind of animal fat in it. Gas is a example also. Certin car parts. Even in certin foods they lie to get you to buy it even though thats illegal. So its pretty much avoiding it to the best of your ability and living the best vegan lifestyle you can with being a comfortable person. Also everyone feels different about different aspects of veganism. Some vegans eat honey. I dont. Some vegans use products tested on animals still. Its all your own take on it pretty much. just like everything else. Ex. religion.
