Yeah! I have to work until 5 pm some weekends, but would definitely be interested. There are several locations, though the 'original' is the one at Charlotte Beach on Lake Ave (north of Kodak). (Has the best view- since it's right on the lake) I often go to the one near Henrietta (Jefferson/West Henrietta Rd area), & that's the one I met Paul Graz at (near RIT).
I have to work 4pm til midnight 7/29 & 7/30, so I'd be up for a daytime run around 1 or 2 if anyone is up for it.
Apparently, today is national ice cream cone day or something like that. Who's up for some tonight? If not, I can go as many times as people want to go!
Today might be a little soon, but what about Saturday at 5:30? Or 7:30 pm, if that works better from a dinner time perspective (though ice cream for dinner seems like a perfectly logical thing to do...)
Heck, I'm always down for ice cream (it also doesn't hurt that it's Abbotts - yum!)
I'd definately try to make it Saturday - I'd love to meet some other mini owners. I'm in Hilton so the Abbots down by the lake is more convienent, but Henrietta is fine too.
How about 7:30 on Sat, 7/22? Since The Tcheezes are new in town, let's meet them at their local Abbott's, which is at: Abbott's 2195 Empire Blvd. Webster, NY 14580
If you're not coming from Webster or the adjoining suburbs (in which case you probably know how to get there...), you can get there easily from 590 northbound, get off at the Empire Blvd exit, take a right, and Abbott's is up on the left near the Regal Cinema theater.
If anyone is interested, we could take a drive along Lake Rd in Webster and stop off at the Lake Ontario Pier at Webster Park.
Holy smokes, I must apologize, I got the whirlwind tour of Rochester today, and I think I lost track at 7 Abbotts! I had no idea! I would really appreciate meeting in the Webster one, though, simply because we're bringing Junior. Thanks

I'm planning to go, in case others come down. I'm not sure it's quite as much ice cream weather than the last week has been, but I've been indoors at work all day.
Attention people of earth. This is your new master speaking. Bow down before me as I offer you yet another chance to partake of Abbott's Frozen Custard. Somebody mentioned to me wanting to go when they dropped their kid off at school up here. I don't remember any other details than that because I have a 9 month old running my life. However, if you would like to plan for a nice sunny day sometime in the near future, I would permit this gathering. Then you may all worship me and present me with offerings of frozen custard. Times and dates?
I think it was Paul & Nancy Graz (NEMINI) who are bringing their daughter to RIT around August 26th. So that would make the Abbott's in question my 'home' Abbott's, on West Henrietta Rd (near Jefferson Rd on the south side of Rochester) 3071 W. Henrietta Rd Rochester, NY 14623
NEMINI forum thread page http://nemini.org/ForumsPro/viewtopic/t=4063/start=20.html
I just posted there to see when they're coming up.
Nancy just posted that they'll be up here Sat 8/26 through Wed 8/30. Maybe a Dibella's subs lunch followed by Abbott's ice cream? I posted a link to here on the NEMINI site also.
The 27th is a distinct possibilty for us. We're probably going to have to miss this upcoming weekend's gathering / WGI laps, but should be around for Abbots. Noon seems a tad early, but we'll follow the crowd.
Having moved two daughters in and out of dorms and apartments numerous times I can sympathize with the task. Room is always on an upper floor with either no elevator or one the size of a telephone booth and every kid in the dorm along with their parents waiting to load their stuff.
Sat. evening would probably be even better for us.
I am so happy my moving into dorm days are over! Actually, they were over before I got the Mini, or it would have been a 'how much can you fit in a Mini' contest. I did do some moving in the Mini when my daughter went to graduate school, but that's done too! (So far...)
Will keep you posted on time, once I ckeck with Paul & Nancy. Maybe they'll pop in here!
Well, I made it here... Not sure if Paul will or not...
Nicole moves into Sol Heumann at 8 am on Sunday - she is on the 9th floor (top). But it shouldn't be ALL that bad since it seem that RIT learned since OUR days there to stagger the move in times over the entire day... Nicole is also not planning on bringing a lot of stuff with her - since we lived in Rochester for almost 20 years (10 in Henrietta) we know the area well and can pick stuff up once we are up there...
Looks like 8 pm on Saturday will work best for us - let us know how that works for everyone...
Now I just have to figure out how to fit Jeremiah's into the visit for my WING fix!!!
Not to worry, she means on the WNY site, I think. The plan is for Saturday, August 26th. Dibella's & Abbott's, which are adjacent to each other (have to look to see what the name of the street that connects them is). The time frame for Abbott's is around 8 pm, maybe anyone interested in Dibella's could meet there around 7-7:15
Not to push our local neighborhood, but there's an Abbot's right in Bushnell's Basin which is located directly on the Erie Canal. No subs, but there's a Tom Wahls' restaurant (homemade root beer, good food) across the street. This spot is a **lot** more scenic than the proposed locations on / near Jefferson Road.
This Abbots is about 10 miles from RIT, and an easy drive. Straight shot down Jefferson Rd (Rt 252) which turns into Rt 96 in Pittsford which leads directly to Abbots on the left. Last couple of miles are driven along the Erie Canal.
