Using a lift when upgrading MCS rear sway bar?

A question to those members who have replaced the rear sway bar with one with a larger diameter. Would it be advantageous to have the car on a lift when doing this job? I have off-hours access to a free-standing drive on lift, i.e. not an in-ground hydraulic, and was wondering if the job is more involved with the suspension being compressed, i.e. wheels are not hanging free as would be the case if jack stands were used. Seems the job would be easier if the car were at a decent height and avoid having to crawl under everything.

Thanks.

I agree it will be easier not having to lay down under the car (on jack stands) if it were at a more convenient height. But I do believe it will need to be up on jackstands to unload the suspension.

Does all this imply you have a larger bar waiting to go on?

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured the suspension would need to be unloaded.

I actually don't have the bar yet. I just found out about being able to use the lift yesterday and the rear bar came to mind immediately.

Lots going on right now so I probably won't be able to get this job done until mid-August or so.

Give a hollar if you'd like a hand when you get your bar. It's pretty straightforward but doing anything a 2nd time is always alot easier!

Thanks for the offer of help. If I end up doing this, I'd certainly appreciate a pair of experienced hands.
