A question to those members who have replaced the rear sway bar with one with a larger diameter. Would it be advantageous to have the car on a lift when doing this job? I have off-hours access to a free-standing drive on lift, i.e. not an in-ground hydraulic, and was wondering if the job is more involved with the suspension being compressed, i.e. wheels are not hanging free as would be the case if jack stands were used. Seems the job would be easier if the car were at a decent height and avoid having to crawl under everything.
I agree it will be easier not having to lay down under the car (on jack stands) if it were at a more convenient height. But I do believe it will need to be up on jackstands to unload the suspension.
Does all this imply you have a larger bar waiting to go on?
