I just received an "official" invite to the VW Club of WNY's combined dinner and Auto Museum Visit. If you are interested in attending, please respond. Thanks, Bill aka "Cogman" See below:
"Bill:
The VW Club has selected October 14 as our date for the Pierce Arrow Museum Cruise. We plan to meet, cruise to Chef’s for lunch, then over to the museum. It’s $7 a head to get in. After that, if the weather is reasonable, we may head down to the marina before breaking up for the day. Is the Mini Cooper Club interested in joining us? One behalf of the VWs, an invitation is extended.
Let me know.
Bob" I will follow up with times and meeting places when they are given to me. Thanks again. Chef's is a great place for Italian food. Their lasagna is magnificent!
Here is the latest update on the Museum Visit. Please see the attached file. The VW people have asked for a head count of interested Minis. Thanks, Bill
Bagpiper, Follow the exit for the Buffalo Airport, which will be the 33East. The first exit you come to after exiting the 90 will be an uphill exit marked "Union Rd", well before you ever come to the Airport. At the top of the hill is a light. A left would take you North, a right, South. Hope this helps. Bill
Bagpiper and Cathleen, DO NOT GET OFF AT THE EXIT FOR ROUTE 78, just before the Toll booths, even though it may be marked "Airport"! Go through the Tolls, stay westbound on the 90, and exit at the 33 East, which I believe is exit 51E marked "Buffalo Airport". The very first exit you will come to is Union Rd, (a very pronounced uphill exit). Turn left unto Union and go about a block or two to Dunkin' Donuts. If you get lost I will provide you with Barb's cell in a private e-mail, and also I will be monitoring the usual walkie talkie channel. Bill
Anybody have an update on the road conditions? Looks like the Thruway is open again, but Genesee & Orleans are under flood watch. I'm thinking about staying home and winterizing the house... I think VWs might float better than Minis.
