"Hang on lads, I've got a great idea."

I heard on the Lockport radio station last week (that's 1340 AM, if you're wondering) that the Historic Palalce Theater http://www.lockportpalacetheatre.com/ in Lockport has a Classic Move Club, where you can nominate a classic move to be played on the big screen. When I heard the words "Classic Move", there was only one movie that came to mind. The Italian Job. The first one. So, I logged on the website, and suggested it, adding that as long as it was on the weekend, I'm sure we would get, at the very least, some club members to come to watch it. At first, the kind movie lover was not aware that there was an earlier version of the movie, but even without knowing that, he mentioned that if I could give them an idea of how much support the movie would get, he would talk to the board of directors, because it didn't sound like a half bad idea. I informed him about the 1969 version of the movie, to which he seemed more intrested, and again, he would bring up the idea to the theater's board of directors.

Long story short:

If they were to play the 1969 The Italian Job at the Historic Palace Theater, who would be intrested?

Erik...

It's been a bit since I've checked the site and unfortunately I couldn't make it to the rally

But I'd definately drive over to Lockport to see the original "Italian Job"

Has anyone ever seen "Goodbye Pork Pie"? I met a guy at the Victor car show (put on by the MG club of WNY) and he said that this movie was one of the original Mini cult movies. I'm looking for it and once I get my hands on it I would be happy to share a review. I'm still looking forward to meeting some of you.

Catch ya later (as I'm zooming by)

Zoom,

Good call on Goodbye Pork Pie. I managed to find a copy and while I only had time to scan it a little it looks like a really fun movie. Of course I might be biased as I'm a sucker for road movies.

You'll have to let me know what you think - I'm going to buy it of EBAY (I saw some clips and I was suckered in too)

I dig road flicks too. (especially if a mini is involved)

Let me know.

There was no "Get this many, and we can show the movie", but a let's see how many people might be intrested, and it will be up to the board of directors if it sounds like it might be do-able...

You can get anybody. Not neccesarily MINI owners. They should just show it because it isn't a movie you see often in the rerun category. I'm sure many people have never even heard of it. I didn't before the recent "Italian Job".

Oh, of course, but the person that I was in contact with wanted to get an idea on how much support it would have when they bring it up at the board of director's meeting...
