Hey Achilless, welcome! Glad you found us! You too scoyk03--don't know how I missed you in September, but hope you're still with us. Not long in WNY 'til 'amateur Motoring' season! Hope to see you both at one of our outings..somewhere!
hey! Name is Nate i have owned my 03 R53 for about a year now. i was in the army and stationed in colorado. recently got out of the military and went to my first minis on the dragon. looking to goto the mini rally!
Just wanted to introduce ourselves as we are proud and excited to be a First Time Mini owner in the WNY area.
I am Steve and my Wife's name is Rose and We are from Rochester, NY.
We are the proud owners of a 2008 Mini Cooper S Clubman, Laser Blue w/Black Bonnet Stripes. Nicely Equipped w/Prem Sound/Sat Radio, and other goodies. Love the Combo Auto/Man/Sport Transmssn.
We got so sick of the SUV thing and it took us a long time to find a Fun, Family Vehicle that's great on gas. We decided to stop by Towne Mini, on a whim, and fell in love while test driving the car. I still can't believe we fit a family of four pretty comfortably in the Mini. So...Here we are. We are just starting out but My Family and I look forward to meeting some of you, in the future.
BTW, We registered on miniusa and named the ol'girl - Rosalita...since my wife is a Big Bruce Springsteen Fan. She absolutely loves the Sat Radio with the E-Street Band Chan. If you see the Mini a rockin and rollin thru the area, Give a Yell or better yet a Wave, since we might not Hear ya.
Welcome, fellow Rochesterian! I know you will enjoy your MINI. FYI, it seems that most of the carwashes around here are OK for using without damage to the undercarriage. I usually ask the operater before I go through though.
Name's Ed. We just moved to the Buffalo area and still unpacking. I'm a long time lurker on nemini and nam. My mini will be six this fall. Looking forward to meets and rallies.
Hi! My name is Rob and I just got my first Mini. It's a British Racing Green 2007 Cooper and I'm VERY happy with it so far. I've been wanting one for years.
poseygurl told me about the forum here so I thought I'd chime in :)
Love the British Racing Green! Welcome to the club.

Hi, guys...I'm just popping back up, after having traded in Fletcher (our 2007 Oxygen Blue MC) after a year...it just wasn't the right car for me at the time.
However, after discussing it for a while, we did decide that the time was right that a MCCS might be right for my wife, so we picked up Iris in September...horizon blue w/ black top, and she's settling in nicely. We have a 1 year old, so the club door makes a HUGE difference when it comes to loading him into the car. Not to mention moving from a base Cooper to a Clubman S...just a bit of a performance boost ;)
So, if anyone happens to be bouncing around Chautauqua County, please be sure to wave at her as she drives by! Apparently, she passes a couple of other Coopers on her way to work every day, and neither of them ever wave at her :(
Welcome aboard, Zip! I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know the very enthusiastic members of the club.

Hello Everyone, Just discovered the site, I picked up an '08 MCS, Mellow Yellow in Dec. with 30K that seems to have lived in Canandaigua, now it's in N. Greece.
I drive year round, no problems, I actually traded in my year round Miata for it.
I figured out my Mini had the infamous death rattle and since it is still under warranty took it to Towne and they fixed it - so far it has been MUCH better and quiet.
It must have had the problem when the PO sold the car, and I could imagine not knowing what it was. It took some research to get to the bottom of it, but in the end it was worth the time. It was a tough intro to the Mini to say the least...
I also had it reprogrammed (3 hours !) because the right window would not go back up the 1/4" when you closed the door - they knew exactly what that was - and the symptom is that it makes the door hard to open.
Since then it has been smooth sailing.
Thinking about Autocrossing it, I have autocrossed a few cars (Porsche 928, 911, and a Formula Vee) and these seem like they would be a lot of fun...handling is outstanding, I can't imagine what sticky tires would do...
Cheers, /Dan

Dan, the Autocrossing is great and it's worth all the effort. I've done it three times now and can't get enough of it. Keep your ear to the ground and get a hold of Genesee Valley BMW for the info.

Hello! I just discovered this group after bumping into a fellow member at the dealer who told me about it. How great to meet you all!
I've had my first mini for a year and a half now. Purchased it from a small resale lot in Cheektowaga. Little did I know Id be stepping into such a fun world. And kids get the biggest kick out of the mini, its hilarious. I love my mini. I was bummed when the Harmon Karmon amp blew last summer, but it didnt change my opinion of my chili mini. I did resort to a more economical amp option and I definitely got what I paid for.
