Scott; I haven't tracked it on the web yet 'cuz up to now, it hasn't done anything. NOW that it's in production, I'll sign up and continue my nervous-nellie ways by tracking it all the way through. I hope the folks over in Oxford are loyal employees, are getting sufficient rest, and realize what's at stake biggrin. Letsee, two months of dog years must be much shorter than two months of MINI years so this next month is still going to be long, isn't it???

You know, - TED, I think they have know idea who they are dealing with yet. I think I can speak for many of us here that once they find out that this is going to be TEDSCAR they are going to go the extra mile for you. Like double check all screws, clean the glass an extra time and then there is the additional coats of wax. It's going to be the best built MINI on the market. I bet your car even gets made mostly on a wendsday (best day of the week). Don't be suprised when the CEO of BMW shows up at Towne MINI to hand over the keys. That would be Cool. WOW, that really would be cool. I hope it is soon. You have been so involved with this car up to this point. It should fit you like a glove. Let us know when the build starts.

DUDE!!!! it's coming sooner!!!! LOL biggrin

Now you're talkin' Scott! I suspect you're right on all counts (and then some smile .) I'm sure there'll probably be a press release a week or so before delivery so hopefully everyone will have time to take off work early that day. I'm sure most employers will to totally understanding. Will keep you all posted. Here's a picture of 'Ted' herself looking for her new MINI last winter (turns out she was a little ahead of me).

Hi Daisy!

I'm relatively new here myself but welcome aboard! It seems we're fortunate to have such an active group here in WNY! I hope one day to be able to do one of the big MINI events--MOT, MTTS, maybe even MITM (now THAT would be cool)! Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events. The more I see of the BRG, the more I like that color!

Howdy.  I'm new to WNY but not to MINIs.  I've had my '05 MCS Convertible since April of 2005.  My wife recently accepted a faculty position at UB so we've just relocated from Texas.  I've seen quite a few MINIs around and have gotten a few return waves as well.  Here's a pic.  Wave if you see me.

What a wonderful looking MINI. What part of WNY do drive around mostly? I'm in North Buffalo/Hertel Ave area and tool around the Elmwood Village a lot when not on my scooter.
I wave like mad at every MINI I spy. A lot of owners out there not interested in acknowledging me. Too cool I expect. I'm a driver. I'm loving every minute of my MNRVA #50 meatball on the sides now.

We're living in the Amherst/Snyder area, but I've been driving all over just to get a feel for WNY.  We looked at several homes North Buffalo.  It looks like a great area.

gyrojunkie- Welcome to WNY. Very sharp with the strips. Sets the car off well. From Texas and yet it looks like you are adapting quite well. Notice the "EZ-pass" on the window. lol

Hello.  I just picked up my new-to-me Mini last month which I am fairly sure was delivered to me under somewhat bizarre circumstances that I figure members of this forum will appreciate.

I am a finance manager at a local dealership.  Last month my sister was visiting from out of town we were talking about what kind of car I was going to get to replace the one I currently have as my lease was about to expire.  I explained that I was not excited about the current offerings at my store but that it would be politically incorrect for me to drive something from a competitor.  I told her that what I really liked was the Mini Cooper and that I was considering going to purchase one and take the heat when my boss found out.  I told her that if I was going to get one it would have to be red, and it would have to be an S, and she added that I could get checkers on the top or something like that.  We laughed and the conversation moved on.

The following day I went into work.  One of the other finance managers was tied up and asked me to finish a delivery for him.  I brought the customer into my office and began to process the paperwork for him and I noticed that he was trading in a Mini Cooper.  I asked him what color it was.  He said it was red.  I told him that I had wanted a red car for the past 14 years and that it had been something of a running joke among my friends that I have wanted a red car for so long and that I work in the car business and havent got one.  I then asked if it was a stick.  He replied yes, a six-speed 'S' model with only 11,000 miles - and it has checkers on the top.

I was floored.  I couldnt believe that my sister and I had been describing this exact car less than 24 hours before.  I told him when he left my office that I was going over to buy his old car.  I had to.  I asked for it and it showed up.  It would have been very bad carma to pass on this one.

Welcome, Carguyjd! It sounds like you and your previously enjoyed MINI were meant to be! Too bad you didn't wish for a million dollars in the boot....

VeganBrian...Are you tracking the status of your MINI?

I'm happy to hear another surprise story. I purchased mine at a Ford dealership. Matches my Stella scooter. It was the first lot I walked onto specifically looking for a MINI. Perfect match.
Be happy with your little surprise. I am. Her name is MINIrva. See you around if you're in Buffalo. So happy I purchased it in July. Probably wouldn't get a loan now. Lucky me.
Have a jolly weekend everyone.

CARGUYJD-
welcome to the club and what a great story. With the demand so high I guess you have to grab them before they hit the lot.

New member from Canandaigua here - My wife and I had been hoping to get a Clubman since we test drove one a year ago.  On April 24th we finally got one, a 2009 Clubman S in Lightening Blue & Silver with Silver Sport Stripes.

We are planning to attend the upcoming road rally in June.

The end of June our lease runs up here in Fredonia. Do you know any good places to rent?
