It is unreal that MINI/BMW has the stuff together so well. MINI is running at full capacity of 3 shifts, 24hours, 7days a week. They are making 800 MINI's a day for around 80 countries and yet unlike should I say sadly the big General here in the USA still can't even bring out the Camaro they showed 4 years ago let alone have the reliability of MINI/BMW. I fell bad for us here in the USA but I have no problem going back to "mom" England and getting a MINI. And Here we are MINI is bumping up cars for the newest members in the past few weeks. It is so cool to see the JOY coming form you all. Makes me love our car even more to know that I am in such a great group of people that like thier MINI's so much. I wonder was I this way back in May? I'll have to read back.

We went to Town in April to drive a MINI for the first time. Tried to keep the price down a bit. My wife had to have yellow and there was a Cooper S in the showroom. All decked out with checkers and rally lights. Tempting but around 2500 in extras was a lot to accept. Then Mark came over and said he ordered a base in yellow for himself that the staff was calling "old yeller". He went on to say we could purchase that one if we would like. All we had to do was wait. At that time there were several Mini's on the lot. Two weeks went by and Maureen walks up to me and says "I can't wait, I'll take the "S" on the floor". 4 days latter we show up and there is a clubman, the decked out yellow "S" in the showroom and only 2 others available on the lot. While there ray sold another order. In 3 weeks I thought MINI was the only car left on the planet. We got soooooooo lucky and have been thankful and more then happy ever since.

There is a Mini Copper that is almost exactly like ours except ours has the turbo, has an additional checkerboard and rally lights I think. There is also a Cooper not sure if "S" or not that is the same yellow. Has fooled me at times. Thought my wife was following me. LOL (thinking) yet....... I was at work so maybe...............na she only likes riding in planes. She does like MINI's maybe there was a MINI/BMW plane....ha ha...

Scott - That must have been it because it had a checkered roof.  I just remember reading your bio & seeing the specs, and remembered the roof. Well, They were at the airshow yesterday-LOL

I'm hoping that there won't be any Maxi-Minis in Rochester JUST like mine, but you never know- after all how can you argue with impeccable taste...LOL
(Actually my first choice was yellow with black rally stripes, but believe it or not they don't make the Clubman S in yellow. Clubman, yes, S, no! Go figure!

Welcome KlownKrr I can imagine how excited you are. I remember when I picked up my MINI which his name is ZIGGY I didn't sleep the night before.

I have a 2008 chili red with checkerboard roof, mirrors, rearview mirror, and dash also rooster red colorline and black rally lights eventually we want to add the checkerboard door handles.

We all want a photo soonest, of course....

MightyMo: I don't have my MINI yet (maybe you know that?), but from my own particular case of OCMD (which a member on NAM diagnosed me with the other day)), I'd have to agree fully with your description of the MINI maniacs. I look forward to having a much more active role once my MINI arrives!

Nice to see that you too buy american gas at Kwik Fill. But understand were i am coming from. We traded a Chrysler 300 in for the Mini and almost doubled are MPG. Then there is my Truck - a Dodge 2500 with a dump insert and Hemi 5.7L. That gets around 10MPG and cost right now, today $149.80 to fill up. I use to fill it every 5 days. Now I try to drive the Mini when ever I can (went to half time in truck). The way I see it we are still saving money at the pump with the higher MPG, higher prices and less driving of the truck (Mini = more fun). Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see the price of gas go down. Yet you as us have one of the top 5 gas only cars for MPG. So next time you fill the tank do as I do. Look at the guy next to you getting upset at 100.00 plus going into his/her tank and just smile. You know you have an edge. Better MPG, more fun to drive, the "it's a mini thing you would not understand" and better resale. Let alone it is like when you were a kid and mom let you sleep with your new shoes - The mini is small enough to fit in the bed too. Hmm.......maybe not. My dog might get upset. Oh and then there would be the tire marks on the carpet. Maureen would kill me. Wounder if I could get slippers for the tires. LOL

No, but I got up to check on it three times! LOL  (It was REALLY still there!)

Yep! We did! Dan (the sales mgr. at Towne Mini) came in when we were picking up the car. He stood ther for a minute looking at it, and then it hit him!!! He just shook his head - the quote I believe was "We spend thousands of dollars trying to convince people that it's NOT a clown car & you get "THAT" license plate???"  Then he laughed! All the way home from Buffalo I could see people pointing and laughing, so if it brings a smile to people's faces it's all good! I got a lot of thumbs up too!

We just liked it! I hope no one is offended because it was only meant to make people smile & seems it does!

You must have snuck back in when I wasn't looking (and I've been looking  a LOT lately). I had to dig back into your posts but I found one of your earlier ones and it cracked me up. Love the name Diddledot--seems perfect for a MINI. Your buying experience sounds like one of those 'couldn'tadreamedit' kinds of things--talk about 'youification'... I know what you mean about the color business. 'tedscar' is (will be) Oxy Blue exterior w/ Gotham Grey interior and the Mellow Yellow color line. Ray at Towne remarked 'haven't seen that before'...but he seemed to like it as he thought about it more. Now the Mellow Yellow color line has been dropped so tedscar will be one of the last with it in it.

Anyway, look forward to meeting you and Diddledot at one of the glorious events...
