Jeff here from the SOMC club. I will be coming to Buffalo with a friend and wondering if anyone is up for a little drive?
We normally come for the rally you have had in the past, but have missed it the last year or 2.
Would anyone like to take us on a rally or tour of your countryside? We will be in town for the weekend of June 22-24, so the Saturday would probably be the best time for a little trip.
So where will you be staying, & how much time did you want to set aside? Several things come to mind. Rt 240 from Orchard Park down to Ellicottville is a nice drive. I also know some curvy roads along the Erie & Niagara county lines & over to Orleans county. Rach El, if you see this post, I know that you know some good roads. Could even come back to our place after, for a swim & bonfire, if time allows. Any WNY'rs have any other ideas?

The drive there is picturesque. Ellicottville is quaint little town, in a valley. http://www.ellicottvilleny.com/ It is a ski town, but it is popular during the summer as well. Kind of like Collingwood/Blue Mountain, but on a much smaller scale. A little walk along Main st. Could get lunch @ one of the taverns. I don't get down there that much, but I'm sure others on this board have been there more frequently.
Jeff, what is your time frame for this? Morning, Afternoon or even early evening?
Obviously you have other things to do while your down here.

We will be coming to Buffalo area about dinner time on Friday.
Hoping to do a bit of shopping, then Saturday we are pretty open. Maybe an afternoon tour (or just after lunch would work), then we'd have time to drive to E-ville and back. If it worked and was nice weather come to your place after.
Where would be a good place to meet? I am booking a hotel for the weekend at a Best Western as I have a coupon for 1 free night.

Well, there is a small park n' ride lot at the 219 & 20A in Orchard Park. (just do a google satellite map view of Orchard Park, pan left to the 219, & zoom in) We could meet there @ 1:00.
As of right now, weather says sunny with a high of 25c. We all know how that can change. If the weather is decent, we can come back to our house in Alden for a swim.
Anyone who wants to go for a recreational drive to E-ville, buy all means join us. Bring a bathing suit just in case.
