At the bottom of the main page of the forum is now a 'Community Funding' link.
Community Funding allows members of the forum to donate funds towards the Active Board Gold service. Gold service provides various advantages, including an ad-free experience, file attachments, advanced customization options, etc.
Erik are there any plans to add Paypal as a donation option? I'm not comfortable giving out my credit card to too many places on the web, but I already have a paypal account.
If someone already has a paypal account, and wouldn't mind collecting, and then making the donations themselves, it would work, but as far as I know, Sparklit has no intent on using Paypal. You could always send a check to me (or some other way of getting me the funds), and I will add that to the amount that we have in the donations section.
You can also mail a check to Sparklit themselves, the info is in the contribute link.
Don't forget, if you make it to the rally this weekend, I'm sure yellowmininy will be more than happy to collect donations to keep the forum blinking advert free...
I have a Paypal account (yellowmininy AT yahoo DOT com), & would be glad to send any contributions to the funds for supporting the site. Thanks for asking!
Thanks to all who have donated money for the site operations- I just added all the contributions I received at the June rally, since the account balance was low again, so thanks to Dave L, Mr & Mrs Cogman, Mr & Mrs Stoney, and I believe Jack was also involved there, but I was having so much fun, my recollection is a bit hazy (and this is from notes I took that day...)
Thanks to all who have contributed to the site- it keeps the ugly banner ads off the page, and keeps the Mini spirit going!
I know I'm new here but I thought I'd point out that I am what my boss calls a "Systems Engineer" whatever that means. But reality is that I'm a computer nerd (and don't forget MINI fanatic) and when/if you're interested I have plenty of servers I can host the club on for free. Just send me a PM when/if you're interested (and don't worry, you won't offend me).
;)
