When to stop modding?

Well I have owned my Mini for less than a year and I have done the following mods....

15% Pulley

450cc injectors

Newman Cam

21mm rear sway

air divertor

CAI

Invidia catback

and TSW Urethane motor mount

plus some minor inside things (bluetooth radio)

but since I did the urethane motor mount my car it kinda shakes alot and is less livable for daily driving. So I am installing a competition clutch, some axles from the driveshaft shop and an OBX header. I hope to have Jan retune this all again for me. Now I am debating a Quaife LSD while the clutch is being put in.....

question is...how do I stop dumping so much money into this car I love????

*sigh*

Your question is relative. We don't spend so much money on our cars because it's a "good" investment, we do it because we love it. I say you should go ahead with the diff and keep upgrading so long as you can afford it.

Q: When to stop modding?
A: Never.

I felt the same way, especially after I realized how much money I lost when I returned the car to stock. The car is nowhere near as fun anymore, I can't really find much reason to keep it, but it does run 100% better than when it was modded.

Although if I had an R53, I'd be trying to locate a twurbo kit, especially if my mod list was extensive as yours.

Haha the twurbo kit is ALTA's twincharge kit, you'd still have the whine :)

no, I have done the autocross thing in the past. I don't want to deal with coilovers like I did on Trixie's car.  I am thinking about saving up and doing the driving course at WGI. Also in my old age I have a harder time seeing the cone patterns. Maybe I just need my eyes checked.

I looked alot at this on NAM before and I guess it is really hard to tune this setup. Although I did see Helix and a gentleman were working on releasing some new setup. I think (hopefully) once I get the header/clutch on and the car tuned again I will be done until next year.  I am hoping to maybe get a BVH from RMW and really let it breath. After that maybe a TVS blower.

I wouldn't doubt it would be difficult to setup but once you got it down right, your mini would be unstoppable. I couldn't imagine a mini with that much power.
