3 laps or 3 runs? I'm thinking 3 runs and lunch but let me know which you (Mr. Bond) are planning.

Looks like I forgot to mention if I was going to join in for lunch! Sorry about that, definitely count me in for that, also I'll likely be doing the 3 runs.

is pretty much everyone doing 3 runs? so 9 Laps? Are they all at the same time or do you get on the track then off it again and do 3 separate sessions?

When we get off the track after each run, we go around to the paddock again & wait to go out again. They say that on average, all three runs are completed within 90 min of the first run. Which is fine, since the restaurant doesn't open till noon.  

So far most are doing 3 runs, but there are always others that monitor the board & just show up @ the meet sites. 

We are happy to have any MINI folk join us.  Three years ago, our first Glen day, there were 33 MINI's that went out on the track.  That was back when they only held this event on one day & only 1 run per vechicle.

I'm hoping to meet you in Canandaigua at the start but won't be going to Watkins Glen. I'll be working 48 hours that week, and I won't be able to take that much time off, but have a great time!

Looks like everyone is doing 3 runs so please put me down for 3 runs as well. Donna and I will be joining for lunch too. This was a blast last year and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Cross your fingers for sun or a little less rain than last year.

I just received this email about 10 minutes ago. Apr 17th 

This morning, Apr 18th, I checked the Watkins Glen forecast.  

Weather Channel says a 50% chance of rain, 

Accuweather says partly sunny.   Go figure

With the updated forecast for this weekend looking like a typical rain, er I mean race weekend of late, we wanted to reach out to those clubs that had planned on attending

This weekend, proceeds are to support JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ) in their search to end type 1 diabetes for children. Last year, mother nature didnt cooperate at JDRFs expense

We realize the less than favorable forecast may put many club owners on the fence about driving down for Opening Weekend so we would like to sweeten your deal:

Any car club member that attends the weekend and pays for a lap around the track will receive a voucher for ONE free Thunder Road Tour ( 3 laps ) that can be redeemed anytime this year per our track schedule. I know many of you plan group visits to the track for this later in the year for your support this weekend for a great cause, we would like to say thank you.

This email should serve as your RSVP confirmation. As the weekend draws closer please share with me a more accurate car count so we can plan ahead of time for your arrival. Attached is a map and rules that each of your members will receive when they arrive with a few rules and regulations I thought might come in handy and last here are a few housekeeping notes for your arrival -

SATURDAY ARRIVAL: All Groups please use Gate 3 for entering the facility. You will be asked to sign a waiver any adults with children or passengers under 18 will need to sign a minor waiver for them.

SUNDAY ARRIVAL: All Groups please use Gate 2

Upon Arrival follow signs to Group Paddock located on the south side of NASCAR garages.

After you purchase your laps at the Garage Entrance, you will be directed to the staging lanes. Please try to stay together and for groups larger than 20 cars - be prepared to stage in 2 lanes side by side, based on room and availability.

Following your laps if you do not plan to leave the facility right away we have arranged a small corral area for you to park on the south side of the NASCAR garages starting at the fuel pumps and following the fence line back to the paddock. We have also arranged the Turn 10 grandstands to be open for track lap viewing you are welcome to go over there and park as well.
