December dinner- Old Toad, Rochester

I haven't been back to the Old Toad Pub in a while, and it was a GREAT place to go (February I think?)  It's at 277 Alexander St, Rochester NY 14607.  Great food, and they are very excited tto have Minis there since the staff is mostly, if not all, British.

I am thinking of 12/3 or 12/10 before the pre-holida madness is in full swing.  Anybody interested?

Hey, that's one I was ticked that I couldn't get a chance to go... No promises, as it's school season for the little lady, so free time is short...

The food there is great!  Definitely worth a visit.

I'm leaning towards the 3rd because I think there will be more competing events like work holiday parties by the 10th, but the 10th allows more time to publicize.  Looks like I'll flip a coin in the next 24 hours...

December 3 would be a toughie for me, but the 10th I probably could make.  I'll never forget my boss's talking GPS telling me to "Turn into the alley--now!"   I still get a chuckle out of that one.  Bill

Cath,

AS USUAL!!  I had it totally reversed!  We are available on the 3rd, not the 10th as previously stated.  Barb straightened me out (also, AS USUAL) last night when I told her what I had posted.  Thanks, and sorry if I caused any glitches.  Bill

No problem, Bill! I have the 3rd & 4th off, but will be working the 10th so I'd be coming after work if it were that. The 3rd is better for me, but I guess it's time to get the word out, huh?

Anybody want to go for a drive the afternoon of 12/3? (Weather permitting...)

Now a drive, I should be able to foot that... I can always leave the wife home to go driving, but I wouldn't feel right enjoying tasty food when she's at home studying... :)

Do you want to get a drive thread going?

Erik...

Okey dokey!  Of course it is completely unplanned, except for the end point.  But that's a start!

For anyone coming to the Old Toad, it is probably easiest to get there from 490 from the Goodman St exit (#17, I think).  If you're coming in on 490 East, take a left onto Goodman from the ramp, if you are on 490 West, take a right (heading north on Goodman).  After the lights on the expressway, there is a light at Pearl St & a light at Monroe, so head straight through those, and take a left onto Park Ave (Parkleigh on the left).  Park Ave ends at Alexander St, and take a right onto Alexander.  The 2nd left is Gardiner Park, and take that to get to the Old Toad Pub parking lot.  Cogman, I think Dyer Alley is now one way, so you have to take Gardiner to get to it, no matter what your GPS tells you! :D

The Old Toad Pub is on the corner of the Medical Arts building, which is a funky Art Deco building.  Look for Minis!

It was a great night for pub food! Who knew Old Peculier & sticky toffee pudding would taste so good together? (I might have to change my screen name...)
