Maintenance Interval Display Reset?

2005 Mini Cooper. I need to reset my maintenance interval display and it's not in the manual.

The guys at Towne showed me how to a few years ago but I don't remember the sequence.

Any help you can lend, please.

1. Press and hold the trip odometer button.
2. Insert car key and turn it to the first position.
3. Watch for the word "RESET" to appear on the Odometer indicator.
4. Release the trip odometer button, then press & hold it again.
5. Wait for the "RESET" message to flash.
6. Release the button, and then press & release (once only)
7. The Service interval is now reset

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll get outside, in the morning and take care of it!

Not quite yet. I got test..... Then I got it to flash, then I can't seem to get it to reset. The number didn't go back to 10K or 15K, it stays at what it was. Suggestion?

OK, I've got it. It was almost what you had said but just a tick different. Now, I need to remember this so I don't have to have Mini do it for me, again.

  1. Hold the odometer button.
  2. Turn the key to the first position, see test on the gage.
  3. Wait until it changes back to what appears to be the odometer but it reads: 51A
  4. release and press the button again to reset the service interval setting.

Hopefully this will still be available next year when I change the oil, again. (Damn that Mobil 1 is expensive...)
