   What date do you other winter drivers put on your snow tires by around here?  Or do you wait until you actually have to shovel a clear spot to install them?  I'm thinking next weekend looks like a smart idea?  Thanks,  Cogman

i generaly wait til the first snow fall, Winter tires are a VARY soft compound and dry pavment will Eat them up, I think next weekend still a bit soon.

I have them mounted on a set of steel wheels and generally mount them when the weather has permanantly turned cold or just before the first snow.

I will probably put mine on the first week of December. We don't usually get snow that sticks much before then in Rochester, though in Buffalo, your mileage may vary...

I slap mine on after the first snowfall... As my summer tires are quite the defination of Summer Only, I'd rather eat up my snow tires than slide into something... :)

Looks like I'll get my snow tires on Monday. I think all the snow we have may melt by then, but I'll be ready! :D
