Hello, MINI friends! For the past three years that I've been involved in the club, we've scraped together a crew to attend MINIs on Top in NH. We've always had a blast and really enjoyed getting to know MINI owners from clubs throughout the Northeast. Last year's drive to the top of the mountain was a bit challenging, and so Brian and I thought that maybe we'd try something different out this year. I think that it must have been Kim (Tedscar) that brought to our attention the Blue Ridge Parkway tour (BRP), which starts out in Virginia and completes in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Cherokee, NC. We've never been before and have heard great things about it, so we're considering trying that out this year. It starts on June 16th and runs through the 19th. The starting point is about 8.5 hours away from Rochester, which is a little closer than Mt. Washington in NH. I've posted info from the BRP website below, and was wondering if anyone else in the club would be interested in joining us on the trip down?
Per the BRP website:
The Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club will be conducting the Blue Ridge Parkway Tour 2011 on June 16th - 19th. This year's BRP Tour, the fourth annual event, will start at the northern end of the BRP (near Waynesboro, VA) with an opening get-together meal on Thursday evening. We'll depart early Friday morning heading south on the BRP. Along the way we'll stop at different overlooks and other points of interest.
Our first overnight stop will be Friday evening in Sparta, NC. The second overnight stop will be in the Asheville area on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning we'll hit the BRP for the final leg to the southern terminus of the BRP in the Cherokee, NC area. That should be about lunch time and everyone will go their separate ways with a ton of memories and stories!!!
While many details are still being worked out at this time, to help give you an idea of the flow, you might want to check out this itinerary document we put together for the 2010 BRP Tour
Please note that participants are not required to pay for registration. The BRP Tour is open to any MINI owner who shows up. But really now, who would want to go to an event like this and not leave without a t-shirt, some stickers, a grille badge and other goodies? Plus, part of the proceeds will be donated to charity and wouldn't your MINI heart feel better knowing you've helped out? We do ask that if you are planning to attend you register to help the organizers and volunteers prepare.

Ooops! Good catch, although I'm sure everyone would (hopefully) know what I meant! I will correct the original posting.

Don't go getting all squishy, Kim. You've got to make a committment and go with it! :)
I think that Hanna would enjoy a vacation from me, and also I'm not sure that she would like to sit in the back seat (even with the roof down).

No squishiness here. Just have to figure out how to leave the evil feline for a few days. Maybe we'll bring him to your house and Finleigh can teach him about climbing on the cupboards...
