Hard to believe, but tedscar is fast-approaching that magic 36,000 mile mark and I have to decide whether or not to invest in extended maintenance or warranty programs. Much as I'd love to do more of my own work, other than basic things such as oil changes, I'd probably take it somewhere for service. If there were more of us around here to guide me through brake changes, etc., I'd take it on, but I haven't done anything like that before so probably wouldn't attempt it without help.
Long-story-short, when I was buying the MINI, I tried to get Towne to send me a blank copy of their extended maintenance and warranty contracts. My recollection is a little rusty, but I think they told me they don't offer an extended warranty and they wouldn't provide me a copy of the extended service contract. I think they did end up sending me a 'handout' they put together highlighting what was covered, but it wasn't the actual contract. I told them I wouldn't purchase it without seeing that contract beforehand, so that was that.
To keep this short, I'd love your input on whether you purchased either of these services from Towne and if so, how they've worked out for you (i.e. do you think they were of value relative to what you paid for them).
we had bought an extended warranty through Geico when we purchased Bruto. It is really cheap. Unfortunately it doesn't help your situation since your car has to have less than 10k on it. =(
