What brand of gas do you use

I read some time ago about how ethenol is not good for the Mini engine.  I've been using Hess since they're the only station near me that doesn't use ethenol.  I heard recently that the local Hess stations will be switching to E10.  If this is true, I need to find a new brand.  What do you guys use?

I use Sunoco most of the time. It has 10% ethanol but according to Towne Mini that won't hurt the engine at all. I asked Mark and he said that 10E was fine. I only use 93 octane. I also have used Mobil 93 and it does not contain ethanol.

I pretty much follow TINMAN's model. I think the MINI manual states not to use more than 10% ethanol. I use 93 octane, most often Mobil.

Thanks.  Maybe I'm mistaken, then.

I use kwik fill. No Ethanol. E10 is ok & meets manufacturers spec. It just reduces your gas milage a little.

Look at the difference in MPG for straight gas & E85 rated models.

I think, with the higher compression of the MINI's, the MPG may not be effected as much.

I've had 2 tanks of BP with 10% ethanol.  The car started to rough idle in the morning and in start ups after work.  I'm done with that crap.  Let the bone heads in DC use it.

I use 89 grade at whatever the closest gas station is. Towne MINI told me that if you use higher than 89, then you're crazy (their words, not mine).

Actually your smarter, The fuel with higher octane ratings burn cleaner in your engine so its better in the long run especially. and gives you more power hehehehe. ( that was not directed to you peppermini, just saying in general) and I know theres alot more positives to it. I just dont feel like looking it up right now haha

I have been using 89 as well. Technically, the manual states the recommended octane is 91. It says the variable timing would compensate for the lower grades, but still may have problems starting. I did run 93 for a while. The car seemed to run slightly smoother, but didn't improve MPG at all. To be safe I may run 93 when winter gets here, for the cold morning starts.

I am sure Towne sees no problem in 89 because it may get you in a new one sooner...

Don't get me wrong they are awesome there and would not lie. But I am sure it takes awhile for the 89 to show any negative effects, at which time they probably hope you are ready for a new one.

Completely no research/knowledge based opinion.

I have been having some hesitation compared to before on start up. I have been running Sunoco. I think I am going to switch to Hess for a while and see if it makes a difference.

I've had good luck with Hess - 93 octane every time.  I'm about to hit 94k and avg. 30 mpg.  I've used other brands when needed (ie. traveling) but always go for 93 octane.

Hi
I use Shell V-Power 91 octane here in Canada  year round and my car performs  max.
When I had my 2003 MC I also used Shell V-Power for the 5years I owned it and never had a problem.
Just my 2cents
