Bye bye Winnie

Sad to say but Winnie was purchased by Auction Direct today for a low low price. =(

We still have Bruto tho so you can't kick us out yet! We are looking to buy a new home soon so it is time for us to make a decent nest egg.

I hope her next owner finds as much enjoyment from her as we did.

I'ts a dark day. Yet I do believe that the next owner will drive that car only one time and like all of us here, be transformed into the miniac that the MINI's command. The end result will be love for the car and unlike other vehicles where the car is in the owners world, in this case the owner will live in the world of the MINI.

At least you still have another to play with.

Are you able to take any of your mods off before you send it away?
If so I would be interested in the sway bar, and maybe a few other things.

well I took off the M7 Strut tower brace (prevents mushrooming too) and the cold air intake as well as the intercooler air divertor. I also removed the center armrest. I kept the rims too. I didn't remove the rear sway as I do not have the original. I also left the Koni FSD's on it because it was too much work to switch back to stock ones. If anyone needs any stock struts/rear shocks with 20k on them I will sell them cheap =).

Like Mark said, I still have my MINI, and you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands!

Letting Winnie go was unspeakbly hard, and it's no secret that if I had a secret stockpile of money to keep her around I would have gladly used it. We can only hope that her next owners love her and enjoy her even half as much as we did.

We're planning on going to the rally and MOT this June and hopefully will make it to the other events this summer. Maybe we can plan a summer time charity event sometime in July/August.

Sorry you had to say goodbye to your friend. I was out in my beatupmobile a few minutes ago thinking that if at all possible (as long as things don't get too screwey) I think I'll have a MINI from here on out.

By the way, VERY cute picture of Cammie!

Sorry to hear it guys, but I definitely can understang where you're coming from. We still have Kassy, as we went back to Auction Direct and they tried dropping the offering price significantly on us. I think we're just going to have to bite the bullet and trade it in on something else rather than sell it outright. I could always try the Craigslist route, but I really don't want to deal with the tire-kickers, joyriders, and dreamers. At any rate, now I have a Mini I need to trade in and a Mustang I have to sell. Ugh, I hate dealing with cars in this capacity. I'd rather have a lobotomy.

We just bought "M" @ the end of March & Wednesday, we picked up CharlieCroaker09. We have a ZIG & ZUG now. We traded a '02 PT Cruiser & '99 Dakota. We were behind Winnie on the way down to the Glen. She was a nice looking car.
I over heard you saying that you were looking to sell her. We had only had M for less then a month, so I didn't think another Mini would be doable, so I didn't ask for details like I wanted to. How wrong I was. Granted the combined Mini Select payments are about $75 more then a conventional 5yr loan would be on just one & we should be saving $90+/ month in fuel costs. That 1.9% rate is really nice.
It would be nice to have a ZAG in the drive, but that is a stretch. The '01 Neon really looks out of place now.
Sorry to see Winnie leave the group. Maybe she will find her way back with another owner.

Yeah I saw that. I'm sure they'd do the same thing to me if I took Kassy there for good. I've got my craigslist ad up and have already had one interested potential buyer. We'll see what happens. I just want to see it go to a good home.

I may be interested in them.  I am not sure what is going on with my suspension.  As I have been looking into a rear sway bar and lowering springs I am coming to realize some things on my over 40,000 mile cooper may need replacing.  I am not sure what if anything is covered under warranty in my situation.

Sorry for not being clear, by "them" I was talking about stock struts/rear shocks.
