Driving School starts @ 9am. This is where you will learn the rules and tips on doing the rally and a great time to ask questions. Every year we have novices and they have won in the past so don't worry just because this may be your first rally. That is why we mix it up from year to year so no one has an advantage over others. Glad to see you are going to be in attendance in our 7th annual MINI Road Rally and birthday bash. We hope to have a record breaking attendance. LET'S MOTOR!

I'll mail my registration tomorrow....just need to find a navigator. My boyfriend leaves for customs & border protection training 4 days before the Rally.

Who does your trophies for you? I'm a member and my brother, Kurt, owns JAR Trophies and Engraving on Union Road in Cheektowaga. He can't give trophies, he is in business after all, but he does a fine job on his awards. If you have no one in mind, please consider giving him the business.

My wife, myself and pepper would like to attend. Is the registration for each person or just the mini?? When does the rally start? We have to come from Clymer which is 2+ hours away.
To all the new MINI owners who have never done a rally,
"WHAT IS A RALLY?"
A rally is not a race. It is a driving event in which the competitors are given a set of instructions, points of interest for destinations and questions to be answered along the way in which you will be scored on. Each car is equipped with a driver, who simply drives where told to, and a navigator, who tells the driver what to do and where to go. Cars leave the starting location at one minute intervals. This prevents competitors from getting through the route by simply following the car ahead of them.
Competitors must obey all stop signs, slow down for hazardous conditions and drive courteously in traffic. The answers to the questions can be found along the route. The competitor with the most answers right will win the rally. In the event of a tie then the winner will be determined by least amount of miles to achieve your goal. If still a tie then time will be determined. So for scoring it will be broken down into 3 catergories.
Questions Miles Time
To participate in the rally you will need 2 people along with your MINI. The rally takes about 2 hours to complete and it is done in rain or shine.
Please feel free to email us if anyone has any further questions on this event. For complete information on this event please refer to the 7th Annual MINI Road Rally thread. Thank you,
MINI Club of WNY

Probably going to the rally but we'll have to blow my brother off who's coming in from out of town to do it. I don't know if that's good karma. We may end up being last minute registrants. Sounds like there will be a lot of folks this year--fantastic!
Welcome newcomers. Wow, I can't believe I just said that. We have only had 'M' for 2 months & we're no longer newbies? DeDe's April 30th post on the first page gives you more details about the rally. See you there, & have fun.

2 people per MINI. If you have a car full of people it gives an unfair advantage to other cars that only have 2. Also lunch is graciously being provided for us by Towne MINI and MINI Club of WNY does not want to take advantage of the offer by feeding people that did not participate in the actual rally. The driver and the navigator will have their hands stamped after registration and you show your hand for lunch. This prevents freeloaders. We hope this clarifies this. Thank you.
Obey traffic rules? Now you tell me. Got popped for speeding during the 5th rally, wasn't paying attention to the speed signs. Police let me go. Learned my lesson.
Only 1 week til' our 7th Annual MINI Road Rally and 50th Birthday Bash! We hope everyone that is planning on attending has completed their waxing and detailing on their MINI Cooper!
The theme is "mini". The place is Towne MINI in Williamsville, New York. The event is the 7th Annual MINI Road Rally and 50th birthday of Mini. This event is sponsored by Towne MINI and MINI Club of WNY. Let us have a great attendance and everyone have a great time.
Remember- June 13, 8-10am. Registration starts @ 8am but if you happen to oversleep or are stuck in traffic don't worry. Registration will continue until the first car leaves.

Ok, I have to find a Co/pilot (Back seat driver), and hopefully I can make it. Gotta talk to the wife about it. Oh, I survived my first winter at Fort Drum. Hopefully this wont be to bad of a deal up here. Sorry its been so long since I was on here, taking care of Collin takes up all my time. Ltr. Phillip
Welcome, Mike & Mary Does this make the rally an international rallye now. I grew up in Brantford, went to Mohawk college, & lived in Hamilton for a about 6 yrs. Moved to Buffalo in '86. Will definitely have to talk on the 13th. Being close to the border, I was wondering if there was any clubs/events in the Niagara peninsula area. Those classic Mini's, are they yours? If so, which one will you bring?
