Brake dust!!!

We have an '07 R56 S and I am very very fed up with the amount of brake dust that it generates. If we drive the car 20 miles the wheels look like they haven't been washed in months! I had hoped that it would get better once the car had more miles on it, but so far (16K) it hasn't changed.
I've seen low dust pads advertised at mossmini and mini mania: http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/g2nmb2025/invDetail.cfm
are they worth the money and effort? Our factory wheels are starting to show small black dots that I can't scrub off-last year I had to use polishing compound to clean them! basically I'll spend the money if it doesn't void the warranty or reduce the power of the brakes (which is awesome!)

I feel your pain! Bruto has the same issue. We haven't invested in this yet but it's on the list. I remember one of the Tier Mini guys had a good recommendation but can't remember the specifics...

I read this before Pat got her MINI and I had no idea how much the OEM pads shed.  However we went with black wheels (with red trim).  You can still see the dust but now it just looks like haze on the wheels.

I used ceramic pads on our old PT. That pretty much eliminated brake dust,
but I don't know if they are made for Mini's, & then there is the warranty issues.
Has any one asked Towne about ceramic? That might be something to ask @ the rally.

I too get a ton of wheel dust. My wife think I have a fetish for cleaning wheels because I'm out there once a week in the summer.
I've got white wheels on the Mini and it's a battle to keep it looking nice. I've taken to pulling the wheels 2-3 a year to get the inside bowl done too.

I just put up with it. I didn't go to ceramic pad when we got the brakes done. It is a loosing battle.

I just use cheap spray on wheel cleaner and a great brush I got at Big Lots. Long handle and soft (long) brush.
