Sorry to post so much here lately, but just thinking of fun things to add on.
I bought my 2005 Cooper used and I really wish it had the MFSW. Does anyone know how I could go about adding this? I have found some button inserts for sale. Is it pre-wired so I would need to buy the buttons and have it programmed?
With out getting into exact pricing, we have only done this a hand full of times on the R53's.... a new steering wheel would be needed along with the button inserts. Ones we have done in the past came to around $1,300.00 and if anything the price would have gone up. Let me know if you want an exact quote, if you can find a wheel used some where that will cut back on the cost.
If you managed to find the Sport steering wheel, Air bag module and retrofit kit the cost of the labor would be $445.00 If you needed the retrofit kit it would be an additional $337.00
I wish the original buyer of my car opted for the MFSW option it would have only cost them like $250 right? Well probably not worth $1000 at this point.
