Oil

Ok so I am still getting use to this synthetic oil.  I have had one change since I have had my 2005 Cooper.  Before the change I checked a level and the oil was clear looking, now I checked it recently and it looks like regular oil.  I had the change done at Towne.  Is this something I should be concerned about?

If you just change your oil when your MINI OBC tells you, You'll be fine. It usually takes into account your driving style, and how long its been.

Mitch, my MINI was new in August of last year. I did my own oil change with OEM oil from Towne at ~6,000 miles. Through that whole time, and a couple thousand miles into the changed oil, it looked pretty clear. I'm now at ~11,000 miles and mine too looks more like conventional oil. I check it regularly and the oil level doesn't seem to fluctuate at all. The MINI seems to run great.

Ok well I won't be too concerned then. I was actually more surprised when I got my car and checked the oil as it is used and only had 5000 miles to go until the change. Maybe the gas I am using leaves more residue that gets into the oil or something like that. Maybe Mark will chime in once it is a week day.
