Car Wash

I was told when I bought Little Brown Jug not to use Delta Sonic.  Anyone know if Mini Clubmans would be prone to damage using those?  I really want to get the salt off the underside.

i dont know anything about that. if anything happened they would fix it. my dads truck went through and lost its gloss once, haha. they paid for the entire paint job. they guarentee nothing happens to it and they are pretty loyal to their customers. I take Cerbeus, cooper S (non-clubman) through and hes fine. I dont see what a foot longer car would do. I only took it to delta 2 times but i hand wash it normally, like i did tonight haha.

When I had Kitty ('03Cooper), I used to go to Delta sonic, I actually preferred the quality of their wash....Then with Kittty (06 Cooper S) I hand washed her to keep her from getting micro scratches....even during winter...

The dealer (Towne) recommends you DO NOT take your MINI through a Delta Sonic car wash because it can cause damage to the underside of the car where the track pulls the car because they sit somewhat lower to the ground. I've never taken mine through their wash. If you do just beware.

Does the DS undercarriage wash do a lot better than all the random drive through touchless wash places?

And it isn't scratch-less either...

I always appreciate the offer of the dealer to wash the car after servicing, and Towne has a good detail shop.

However, it's still worth a second thought before letting anyone else wash your car, as evidenced by this posting.

I love Towne's detail shop I am always happy to have them give it a clean. I am also quite ocd about keeping it clean.

I asked them not to wash our car.  I have fine swirls and while they may have been done at the factory I suspect one of the multiple washes at Towne are the cause.

I didn't mean to suggest DS was touchless (but I thought they did have that option).  I was speculating that the wheel well spray at the local touch-free might be as good as DS which is yet another reason not to submit your MINI to their less than tender mercies.
