I was looking on NAM and saw a thread that new MINIs didn't always come with a tire jack. Some said they had to ask the dealer for a jack and got one. Others said the dealer didn't supply one. Yet others said there was a tire jack supplied in their new MINI. Did anyone in our ranks ever run into this problem?

No problem. I heard the same and called ahead to make sure it was there. I almost left a (used) car on the Subie lot on delivery day because they weren't going to supply a jack. Principle...
It took me a month to realise that there was an other compartment under the first compartment that had a jack and aplace for a spare tire. yes i did get a jack and didnt have to ask for it. see ya CJ

Our first MINI was a 2002 MCS and back in those days a jack was not supplied with the car as it had run flat tires, which was quite shortsighted. If you purchased a MINI with regular tires you got a spare and a jack.
After a few months I happened to be at Towne and asked for a jack and was given one with no problems. We eventually replaced that car with another MCS (this time an '05 JCW) and by that time MINI had wised up and jacks were a standard feature in all cars regardless of the type of tires fitted to the particular car.
While MINI has seen the light, big daddy BMW is still in the dark. We recently purchased a BMW 135i coupe which has run flat tires but no jack. The car has jack points quite similar to those on the MINI but no way to lift the car. I actually have a spare MINI jack which looks like it will fit but the 135 is heavier than the MINI and I'm a little apprehensive that it may break if I'm able to get the car in the air before I can get a jack stand in place.
So... My new MINI didn't have the tire jack. The guys at Towne didn't even hesitate... they went right out and grabbed the jack from the test car and gave it to me. Paul at Towne also spent about 40 minutes showing me all my MINI has to offer. Very cool.
