not to sound like a broken record but it is pretty obvious some of you do not read or choose to only read some things. At first we said it would be nice to have a new URL for the site. It was just a suggestion to see what people thought. When the conerns of senior members of the community were expressed about the site security and such, that suggestion was dropped. The new suggestion was for an entirely seperate site that only linked to this one.
Jack, noone is looking to move the site in any way shape of form. Please stop thinking that.
Are you serious about tigers at the wedding???? It might be worth a trip to Niagara Falls just to hear about it....my daughter is getting married in June and we are looking for something unusal to do for it...tigers might be a bit out of our price range though...
I am so glad we got to meet you....you certainly are interesting!
Google to Gregg Frewin and check it out.My nephew works back stage and the bride is one of the girls in the show,if I can I will take pics

The wedding is friday night ,Magic show with both the groom and bride with tigers in the show Sat night then to the casino .I could slip out for a mini ride aye .See ya CJ
Hey Dnr, I'd love to do a get-together for some potato water or something. Weekend plans are up in the air right now; still don't know where I'm / we're going to be. Maybe you can keep us posted on your plans, if you're not hanging from the tiger's mouth by Saturday night.
Was not home the other day and did a "google" for the club website and what did I see yes http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=71633 BUT and I mean but I also found http://miniclubofwny.activeboard.com . Since I never saw this before I have to ask.. is it new? If so nice job. It is much simpler to tell someone the address now, let alone remember. Maybe Jack can fill in the blanks.
You might ask what brings me back? Simple. Off on injury from work. Not to bad but WOW! No it was not at a fire or rescue. That would make a better story. Was doing the morning house work at the firehouse. Took out the trash to the back garage then while closing the 70 year old wood garage door I crushed my right thumb in between two of the door panels. Crushed big time, to the thickness of a nickel. You would think one of the chiefs or safety officer would give me a ride to Strong but noooooooo. They sent an ambulance with lights and siren. OMG! I'll leave out the graphics for you, so to tell it simple and I mean simple. I have broken my ankle, collar bone and more in the past but this one hurt beyond pain. You can forget hitting your finger with a hammer. It was the worst thing ever in my life. At the hospital the xray showed the last bone in the thumb to be CRUSHED flat. Then they were kind (kind is a nice word) enough to take off my nail and give me 20+ stitches. Oh yea, so the seam where the nail grows from would not seal up the Doctor was so very kind as to jam the nail back in the grove. So I am off duty for a bit. For any of you strang people like me, if we meet up sometime I did take pictures ...lol -scott

Scott--that sounds painful. In fact, reading it made me wince--out loud! How are you able to type? I know the thumb isn't all that necessary for typing, but I would think you'd be so doped up that if you did type, it would be gibberish! In any event, hope it feels better someday. I can't even imagine what that will look like in six months. On the bright side, at least you'll have one good appendage to slide papers under doorways and such. Beyond that, I can't think of any advantage you'll have with that flattened thumb.
So glad you're back, but not for the reason that you cite! You poor thing. I can commiserate with you; I've been in pain for three months now from the accident (and have seen some pretty gory sights as my burn has gone through the healing process). I can't say that I would want to see pictures, but your description says a lot. I sure hope that you recover quickly!

Ted-Pepper- thanx guys but I would never take a burn over this. Hope you are coming to the light at the end for healing soon. As far as the flat thumb used for sliding papers under doors. Thats a good one. Good thing I have some free time to think of a comeback..(wicked lol). -s

..... I've been in pain for three months now from the accident....
Still?!? How has the burn healed up?
MightyMo- OUCH! feel better!
I've been thinking about this since my last post and I am concerned for peeper and the burn. No one should be in pain for that long. I only hope it is not that bad. One good thing...it's not as bad as the guy this past week at Mt Hope Cem. (trying to cheer you up) As far as I, my finger iches more than it hurts now. The bandages still turn red but not to bad. See the Dr. tomarrow. And by gods will I will be back to work in a week or so. Yes "Tedscar" flat thumb and all. Stopped taking any pain med after 24 hours. Hate drugs. I don't mind "being one with my pain". Seem to channel energy from it. Maureen worked the burn ward at strong for a few years and I have heard the stories. Please tell us your gettting there Pepper, I feel for you.
Thanx Venno for your support.
By the way, I saw SPDinNY and his better half today. Nice folks.

Here is the story behind the logo. Since MINI Club of WNY was started by me and Dan Ives in the year 2002 I consider the club my brain child. We came up with the name of the club specifically for many reasons. The word MINI is in all caps to denote the new MINIs. The letters "lub of " is to represent the classic Mini. And WNY was to represent the western New York area to include Rochester, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and all areas around. The club is open to classic Minis as well as new ones. I know the feeling when people who were not here for the long haul coming in to try and change things. This is not the first time that this has happened. I don't understand why people just can't enjoy the things going on with events and rallys and worry more on things like logos and websites. It's just a communication board for information. MINI Club of WNY is an unofficial trademark like the Ford Motor Co. Sign. Business cards were purchased, plaques were made and to go and change it would be costly. I know technology moves fast but some things should stay the same like logos. If you keep changing websites, addresses, logos, then you will lose people and there will be no link to the past. Thank you, Diane J. Stauder

Amen. Maybe Cathleen can do it! (Or get rid of it all together).
