question...

does anyone promote this forum on their mini with a decal or something? I am thinking of getting a vinal decal made for my back window so all the minis that dont know about this wonderful forum can then know. does that sound like a dumb idea? and does anyone know a good vinal place for something liek that?confused

VB, seems like I saw some discussion about this idea (brochures, cards, something) from a while back. I think it's a good idea. I'm going to sit back and wait for the long-time members to weigh in--seems like this must have been worked over before. Anyone?

I have done cards & small printed notices- not hard to do at home with business cards, but expensive to hae printed in color. The window clings have to be done at a vinyl sign shop that specializes in that kind of work, and probably the black & clear (or one color & clear) might not be really expensive but any sticker with the whole logo would be. Every time I pass a printer/sign shop I look to see who does vinyl but haven't seen any around where I live.

As strange as it might be - There are members that have the ability to produce, make and list many of the items everyone talked about in the past. Member made, member purchased, and member owned. If the long-time members that tedscar mentioned would agree I bet we could have an off site up and running very fast. I would even go as far as to say that MINI USA would even give an ok, in writing, for us to have a site under ... say... wnymini.com. I would even gander to say that the "long time" members would not have to do anything since we have a membership with a wealth of abilities. It would be even better if this generated extra funds for the future club events.

Just a thought,
scott

I'd love a window cling for my car or anything else to promote the club. It'd be great to see our active membership grow so that we're more like the really active clubs that I've seen from the south and new england.

Another thought for WNY Merchandise would be CafePress.com - you can pretty much put whatever you want (pictures, messages) on whatever type of product you want - clothes, stickers, buttons, license plate frames and on and on and on. Anyone could order whatever they wanted and - in theory - it could all be pretty quick and easy.

yea, cafepress is just pricey. around 30$ a shirt. Which im actually starting to do that soon. I have lots of designs ive been working on, on my computer for a while to start making shirts so maybe i can come up with a design for us. collaboration between mini artists? hehe. No matter what im getting vinal made for my mini in 2 weeks. Ill update you all and tell you how much i paid and review where i go for anyone else interested :)

I know I have driving out of the showroom pictures, but it was before I had a digital camera, so I have to see where they are.

I've been thinking about cider & donuts- how did you know? Schutts on Plank & Shoemaker in Webster, or Baumans on Plank & Five Mile Line are the 2 places I usually go to.

I have an idea (actually, I think that it's Cathleen's idea). It looks like the weather will be best on Sunday, and the Amazing Maize Maze is right around the corner from my house at Longacre Farms. There's the maze, which my friends say is awesome, cider, donuts, pumpkins, and some sort of bouncy thingamajobber. That will give VeganBrian a chance to break in his car, and all of us a chance to have fun.

Mark & I love Schutts but the Maize Maze sounds like a good idea too. I'd suggest a meet-up at Irondequoit Mall with a detour up Kings Highway and along the lake...

Jack,

I love that picture; it has a sense of longing to it.  I'm glad to know to that I'm not the only one that stalks my own MINI!!! (I had wanted to go visit it after the accident, but my hubby thought that I was crazy). biggrinbiggrin

Hey VB, hope it works out that you can pick up your MINI before the weekend.  I just found out that my MINI was unloaded from the ship yesterday in New York.  Hope I can pick her up next week.  I think I will have to make a call into Towne to see if I can get any details.  Isn't this so exciting?

Take a day off!!!
A "Mental Health Day" It would be appropriate I think...
Plus, you think you'll be the slightest bit productive after experiencing YOUR new MINI in the morning on your way to work and then all day knowing that It's just sitting there in the parking lot WAITING for you to hop in and Motor on some fun roads
