The past few years my hobbie has been to remodel my house.  The biggest project to date has been my kitchen.  I love to go conoeing and hiking.  I have two dogs that are my kids.  Autumn is a chocolate lab and Cali is a chesapeake bay retriever.  Alot of my time is spent messing around w/ the dogs.  I love to play golf but I'm not very good at it.  I like to follow baseball, go SOXs, and football, the Bills are going to make the playoffs this year!!!!!?.  If I get my MINI in time I may be tailgating w/ her on November 2 for the Jets game.....

Yeh, I think there is a little MacGyver in me as well.  I like the idea of being self sufficient - only in todays world it is a little hard...

Brian, what do you draw?  My sister did some really nice pastels when she was younger and my mom is an amature painter.  She has sold a few paintings and really enjoys it.  She generally paints fruit or animals.  She was on a roster kick for awhile.  My artisctic side is more toward music.  I play the guitar and was in a band many years ago.  My friend still plays in a band (Check Engine) in Ithaca and I go to see them now and again.

VeganBrian, perhaps you can draw pictures of your MINI, and your two worlds will become one. Or better yet, cute animals driving your MINI through the wilderness! :)

To answer your topic question, I am a bit of a workaholic I'm afraid; I spend roughly half or more of the year working about 70-80 hour weeks. When I'm not working or spending time driving my MINI in the summertime (Pepper hibernates in the winter), I like to shop, spend time in Ithaca with my friends or hiking, eat ice cream, or hang out at home with my cats. I have two cats, both are rescues; Poe is my male cat and first "baby" (I rescued him from an ex-boyfriend who fed him only Chef Boyardee rigatoni from the can), and Snookie, my female cat, who was going to be euthanized by my husband's parents because they travel and didn't want to take care of her anymore. Poe doesn't necessarily like Snookie so much, but has learned to tolerate her. He still knows that he's my favorite, so that makes him ok with her being around.

We went through a period of home renovation (which I actually enjoy), but don't have anymore to do because our house is relatively new.

Well VeganBrian it looks like you keep yourself busy.Are you still in a band now? My son is part owner of a recording studio and i hear and see a lot of up coming artist that he has recorded. Its so cool. Well about my other hobbies I like to watch Nascar and go to races,Play Texas Holdem with ten other friends once a month on a poker table that i built with speed cloth/cupholders/padded rail etc.I was also in model railroading/N scale,I also ride an enduro to work and trail riding/in the winter i take computers apart and rebuild them.Ilike to download lots of music. I might be getting back in to bow hunting. I was Tool and Die maker for 25 years Otr truck driver for 5 and now work for a Steel company refurbishing there old machines. Its a nasty job but the pay is excellent. seeya CJ

Outside of MINI stuff I love flight, I am a pilot (fly a Cessna 150) and I also design build and Fly RC airplanes. I enjoy cooking and even more so when i can share my meal with someone i care about, family, friends or gf. Eexperiencing new and unique quizeens is another favorite activity of mine...
But, unfortunitly I haven't been able to do many of the things that I previously mentioned because I'm in a different country where i only plan to be for a short while longer so it makes no sence to get the stuff i need for my hobbies, so insted I've been getting in touch with my artisitic side...Playing Violin, Mandolin and photography...
Oh right, and I really like to learn...about anything actually

I've often heard you should love your work, and even though this is my work, I am really into natural resources. My hobby / obsession is watersheds; figuring out how they work and trying to find ways to guide land use so that watershed function is minimally compromised. I have worked in watersheds from the Cascade Range of Oregon to Seattle's municipal watershed, to the Rocky Mountains of Idaho, and now here in WNY. I've got to say, these are as challenging (maybe moreso) than any I've worked in before. But, when it's not driving me crazy, it's fun!

Speaking of driving...OH...you wanted hobbies outside the MINI world. 

I'm into dogs, particularly Newfoundlands. Don't have one anymore (mine lived to almost 13!) but have always loved the breed. I really like big dogs, but as you can see, Ted isn't the largest of beasts. I guess I'm just a dog guy and they certainly don't have to be purebreds. Dogs crack me up 'cuz they just live in the moment and do their thing. The older I get, the more I see the value in that lesson. I've been to a few agility events and stuff like that and that seems really fun--both dogs and people have a good time!

Now I'm really into the MINI....oh forget it...

 I wanted to get some international experience and i thought it would be cool to go to the czech republic (i have dual citizenship to US and CZ). Plus the position that they were offering me was AWESOME...Travel lots around europe, project managment, and title of Senior Design Engineer (Mind you i graduated May 06)...Great jump board which otherwise would have taken melike 8 years... The job is great, but I miss my family, gf and the US in general (people places attitudes...everything) I'll probably be here another year  (just enoughh so i can put it down on my resume and claim experience) and then head back to the states

I've been around here for awhile..My 1st Cooper was a Pepper White Cooper..I got rear ended during a snowstorm in 06 and had her fixed.


Shortly after that I traded up to a 2006 Purple Haze Cooper and been motoring along happy as a clam ever since.....looking at the 2009's for a trade-up soon!

I also play guitar and a few other insturments...just a hack...no formal training...we should all get together for a impromptu jam someday!
