Last minute questions: '08 MC options

OK, I'm getting down to the wire order-wise and have a few questions I hope all you helpful folks can assist me with:

1) If I opt for the factory-installed car alarm and leave our 35-lb dog in the MINI, will she set off the alarm? Is there a way to disable the inside sensor and still have a functional alarm for the exterior of the MINI?

2) On the '08 MC, is the intermittent wiper speed 'settable', or only speed-sensitive with no opportunity to set it 'manually'? How about the intermittents with the rain-sensing option?

3) I've read some posts about having some options installed at the VDC as opposed to the dealer. It seems some have specified this to be done and that it has actually reduced their cost somewhat on some features? Anyone have any experience with negotiating this into their order?

Thanks in advance for any input!

On my '07, there are 4(?) wiper settings - 1 has a delay, 2 is speed sensitive, 3 is slow constant and 4 is fast constant.

For your other questions I'd suggest checking with your MA or maybe Mark H. (TowneMINI) will chime in...

There really isn't an "intermittent" setting with the rain-sensing wiper. I think it's rain sensing, low, and high.

I thought I head heard, though, that on the newer ones you could adjust the sensitivity to rain...Fletcher was very itchy to wipe all water into oblivion.

Thanks Chris. That sounds like Fletch had to work overtime...
