Well Nicole and I are going to the Boston one and most likely the Chicago one. Anyone from here going to either? I am sure Nicole will post with more info. We already booked our hotel at the Best Western in Waltham, MA.

SPD and I have decided not to go to Chicago - not enough time off to really enjoy ourselves since we would need to put in a long day of driving on Friday to get there and would need to come home Sunday.
But who knows - if MTTS Boston is a really good time we might change our minds!

Well we just came back from Boston. We had a great time but most of the fun was not due to MTTS. We will be passing on Chi town. I think Minis on the Dragon spoiled us =). I am sure though that MOT will reign supreme!
The best parts were talking with the 2-300 Mini owners. The looks on people faces when they see one Mini after another going down their streets. The worst part was the big deal made of the breakfast which was basically a crappy version of a Continental breakfast. The big gather consisted of maybe 4 vendors and 3 magazine vendors. The food was way overpriced. The auctocross course was maybe a 25-30 second run. I hate sounding so negative about it. I really enjoyed Boston and the other Mini owners. I guess thats what I went for in the first place.
I really was suprised they didnt give us a Tshirt though or even sell them for MTTS.
I agree, the best part of the Friday night meet & greet was walking around the parking lot and talking to people. We met more people out there than we did inside of the party. It was the same Sunday at the rally - we had a great time looking at all the other Minis and meeting people. The rally was fun, but it's Boston and there was a lot of non-mini traffic to contend with. The festival itself really did rank the lowest of everything on the fun-meter.
From what I have read, it seems like things vary quite a bit between the different sites - so it could be very different in Chicago. If Mark had more available time off, we might have considered going but with the length of the drive and our limited timeframe we've decided it won't be worth it.
