AHHHH! June 21st is my second daughter's first birthday.

If the date doesn't change I'll have to sit this one out.

The date for the 6th Annual MINI Road Rally will be changed to June 28. This will allow the workers more time to get things ready and the weather will cooperate more. These are all tenative since it is still months away. Keep watching the board for further updates. LET'S MOTOR. MINI Club of WNY

Minis On Top is also on June 28th this year, and quite a few of us have already committed to that. If there's any way to have it on one of the earlier weekends in June, I'm sure it would make it easier for more of us to attend. biggrin.gif

Is the Rally still planned for the 28th? We're really hoping it will be a different weekend so we can attend!

Calling all MINI owners:

MINI Club of WNY would like to annouce our 6th annual MINI Road Rally to be held on June 28 starting @ 8am. Like in past years the rally has been a joint effort between MINI Club of WNY, the rally master, and Towne MINI who have always supported our rallies. This year is no different. For this year's event the rally will begin @ Towne MINI with registration starting @ 8am. The rally itself will begin @ 10:00 sharp. The cost of the rally will be $15.00 pre-registration with checks mailed to: Diane Stauder, 410 High St., Lockport, New York. 14094 or $20.00 the day of event.

1st prize will be a $50.00 gift certificate to Towne MINI. (They have some cool items!)
There will also be a 2nd and 3rd prize. The prizes will be displayed the morning of the rally.

This year we will be taking in the beauty of the southern tier. In past years we have been traveling north so we felt a trip down south would be ideal. The route will take us from Towne MINI to East Aurora and ending up at "EARL's" for lunch. Towne MINI has graciously offered all the rally participants lunch for their hard work in completing the rally. "EARL's" has been on the news lately being the fact that after they closed they decided to reopen so this will be fitting for our lunch to be at "EARL's"!

As we approach closer to the rally date and more info is known please keep logging on to this site and if anyone has any questions as to the rally please email me @
dianestaud@earthlink.net. If you plan on attending the rally please let us know so that we may give "EARL's" a head count. Also if you would like to participate in the rally you will need a navigator and driver. The rallies in the past have all been great fun and they have all turned out great so shine up your MINI and meet us @ Towne on June 28!

MINI Club of WNY (This is a "once a year" event. If you miss it you will have to wait a WHOLE year for the next one!)

That sounds great. It will be nice to be close to home. Earl's has excellent burger and fries. I am really looking forward to it.

Woo hoo, sounds like fun. Last year's rally was the first time I test drove a Mini, so it will be cool to be there with Kassy! biggrin.gif

We will hopefully be there also. I have to double check with my husband. My husband won't let me drive when we are both in the MINI he has to drive. The MINI is my vehicle and he only gets to drive it when we are taking a ride at night or on the weekends.

Very regrettably, the Bennetts will miss the Rally this year.  First one we will have missed.  We have a 2:00 wedding in Erie to attend.  Hope everyone who attends has a great time.  Looking forward to 2009.

Attention!  Women who want to drive in the Rally!

Do what my wife, Mary, used to do.  Look at your husband, slump your shoulders, and say, "Do you really think we have any chance of winning?? With me navigating?? You want me to be the one reading the map, telling you where to go???  Oh, good luck!!"

She got to drive, every time! biggrin

I will definitely try that my husband hates it when I navigate

Just got our 2008 Cooper S on Thursday. Wifes Car. She drove from Towne Mini to first rest stop on 90. Then it was my turn. About half way she goes "you might want to slow down...your doing over 90". Being a guy I said "yes but we are getting 32.8mpg" LOL Yes I did slow down. It drives a little to easy. I might like it better then the Chysler 300 we traded in.
We will be there at the rally. Looking forward to it. The Jeep Wrangler we had a few years ago became boring since it had no real places to go around here.

Attention MINI Owners,

Just three weeks til our 6th annual MINI Road Rally. Remember that if you would like to save $5.00 on the entrance fee you need to mail a check for $15.00 to:

Diane Stauder
410 High St.
Lockport, N.Y. 14094

There has been a slight change in the route. Due to unavoidable road construction
we will be ending the rally and having lunch at COLDEN LAKES RESORT restaurant and Deli. It will still be sponsored by Towne MINI. Every driver will receive a dash plague and a chance to win the grand prize of a $50.00 gift certificate to Towne MINI. So remember:

Rally Date:
June 28

Place to Meet:
Towne MINI

Time to Meet:
8:00am

You will need a driver and navigator, a good pair of eyes, a MINI, and an empty stomach. Hope to see as many MINIs as possible for MINI Club of WNY's 6 annual MINI Road Rally. LET'S MOTOR!

We will hopefully be at the rally my MINI is at Towne being serviced. We are not sure yet what is wrong. Mark will call on Monday to let me know what they found out. We dropped ZIGGY off on Friday about 5:00 pm and I miss him. A warning icon came on when I started the car and when I shut the car off. When I called Towne they were great and let us bring him in on the same day. We went to a Buffalo Bison game that night so we figured that it would work out if we brought him in on Friday.

Yes, you could call it a contest. It is a race in the sense that you will be given a set of instructions on where to go. Along the route there will be answers to a list of questions that will be handed out at the beginning of the rally. The winner of the rally will be determined by the most correct answers. If there is a tie then the winner will be determined by the shortest distance as noted by the odometer from the beginning of the rally to the end. So destination for June 28 is Towne MINI @ 8am and lunch will be @ Colden Lakes Resort Restaurant & Deli. Time to get the Turtle Wax out! Let's MOTOR.
