MINI Parking Spot

Alright so I'm usually very proud of my parallel parking jobs in spots that look WAY too small for most cars, but perfect for MINIs (and from talking to other MINI folk, they are proud of this too)...but heres one that i did this past weekend in Manhatten which i was super proud of...did it all by myself in one attempt*  without scratching of denting anyone's bumper

Anyone else share this passion??

*with about a hundred back and forth movements to align myself

Great job!  But I have to admit that I would be going nuts all day wondering if the others would be able to claim "no scratch" when they left  worry.gif

Yeah the guy in front of me had no cars in front of him and the car behind me had about 1.5 ft behind him so i made sure that everyone had enough room to get out...plus after driving around for 30 minutes looking for a spot that you'll be in for 15-20 minutes coupled with the memory of NYC parking fines (over a hundred is normal) and lets not forget what some NYC parking garage cost... all make that spot pritty good....

I used to do this with my Le Car in NYC when I was visiting. I learned to parallel park from my father-in-law, who grew up in NYC. :)

Gotta love squeezing in those small spots. First time I took my mini out we went to a restaurant where the parking lot was full, except where a hummer had parked in two spots because it was too big. Of course I fit, but barely.

Since then I find it amusing to park next to larger vehicles in parking lots. Apparently other people find it so amusing that I found these pictures of my car floating around work via email one day after parking next to a truck. I know I'm not the only one, anyone else do this when there's no mini spots?

ha ha, Nice, yeah i also like parking near bigger cars. Its interesting to park a Classic next to a new MINI too, It makes the New MINI look like a full size, btw what year and model is your Classic?

It's a 75 Austin Mini 1000, Automatic. My wife's got a 2006 Cooper S, so we're used to seeing them side by side. The 75 is definitely a LOT smaller, and may not be half the size, but it's about half the weight! It's a trip to drive.
Hopefully we'll see you at the Mini run on the 17th!

Ok. I have some issue here. Guys in most cases have cars that are "she's". Even if the car has a name which alot of MINI owner give thier auto, it still tends to be a female name or non-gender. Some do give the auto a masculine name "due to the "bull dog" type of car a MINI is but still may refer to the car as a she. I can not speak for the female owners. I have a feeling that if there was a poll most men and women would say she. This is just my thought. In fact I have have started a new thread to vote
