Way back in 2003 Smileee had one of her 15 minutes of fame by appearing on the front page of the New York Times Travel section. (click here)
Now It is Windys turn.
About 2 weeks ago Dan Ives (sales Manager of Towne MINI) called me and asked if I would be interested in taking the convertible to Rochester to have some photos taken for a contest. All he knew at the time was an ad agency approached him looking for a yellow MINI convertible. After a couple of phone calls I agreed to do it.
This spring Arbor Mist Wines will be running a national contest to give away a MINI convertible. A picture of my car will be made into a plastic 3d model and will appear in stores across the country.
Today was the setup day and here are some pictures.
Why have I never met that woman in your car? You know I'd come over a little more often.
My first question would be why didn't someone tell her not to stick her arms out of the Mini like that? Twisties and some unexpected extremely low bridges later andS she appears to have sufferd de-handification of both arms... tragic.

Sorry to say I didn't How ever they did make it worth while.
[Quote Did they wax it up or did you?
I did all of the detail work. The night before I washed the car and left it overnight to dry.
It had rained over night so I dried the car off then went over the whole car with a claybar. After that waxed with Meguiar's Gold paste wax.
Upon arrival at the studio I used some Prima Slick to get the smuck from the trip off. Wow on the black trim and cleaned the tires.
[Quote Where did you find a yellow Cooper Cabrio?
That story can be found here.
Now the answer to the burning question "What happened to the girl's hands in the mockup ad?" Not much of a story there, they were torn off when someone at the ad agency too the sign out of the box.
I'll be posting details of the day with some rather poorly taken pictures soon.
