Hi everyone! Im jas. I also have just ordered a Mini Cooper after reading all these great posts. Mine will be Astro Black with a White Roof. Here are my specs, let me know what you think.

Hi Jas and everyone:

I'm also new (although I've had some nice exchanges with some folks here and gotten some valuable advice on some decisions I'd been making on which options to choose) and I also just ordered mine. My salesperson was also Ray and I found him to be a really nice guy. I went with a Cooper S, red with black stripes, black roof and mirrors and driving lights. I also went with the xenon lights, so I imagine any deer that gets illuminated by me will be pretty well blinded (but at least maybe he won't be hit). Thanks again everyone for your advice. Jas - when do you expect delivery?

I am new as well.  I ordered 3 weeks ago and am still waiting to be scheduled for production.  Greg told me on 5.3.08 it would be another week or two!  I ordered Chili Red S with a black roof and bonnet stripes.  I don't think it will be in for the Rally hmm

Thank you.  I think I am driving my hubby insane with my impatience.  When he got his new car last year, he was able to drive it off the lot.  He researched what he wanted, read all the reviews, etc. so he thinks he had to wait a long time.  I casually said that the SUV I drive is costing so much in gas that the next car we get should be something small...he said "a Sentra" and I said "you got a fun car, I want a fun car, like a cooper".  He got online and started all the research.  I think he regrets it now biggrin

I just ordered a Chili Red S Clubman with black trim/roof/mirrors...VERY Excited. However, I'm tenative about learning manual tranny with it, any advice or tips that you guys might want to give me?

Also, looking to take it to DC w/3 friends after having it for a few weeks, anything I need to know about highway driving early on in the car's life?

Unfortunately....I won't have it in time for the Rally :(

Nicole learned on her Mini. I took her to a large open parking lot and had her practice starting and stopping. Leaving it in first and just stopping and going. When she got better we did shifting.
