Cooper S Convertible anyone?

Wondering if there are others with this model? I just recently traded in my 2003 Cooper for a 2005 Cooper S convertible....and its SO different. I have a couple questions for you guys out there :)

What kind of gas mileage are you getting? Man, I've gotten all kinds of mpg....from 22 to 28/29ish. Sure miss the mpg that I got with my non-S :(

Suspension -- this one feels almost sloppy compared my non-S. Is this normal? I seem to feel alot more road bumps than before....not as "tight" as my non-S.

Supercharger -- is it normal for it to almost sound like a sputtering "putt putt" when you take your foot off the gas? (excuse the non-technical gibberish. lol) I'm not sure if it is normal....

I have an appointment scheduled at Towne to do a "check-up" on it since I bought it at a dealership in Rochester.....and I KNOW they knew nothing about Minis and didn't even look at it before they sold it (like to notice that they gave it to me with NO coolant in the engine....don't get me started...lol)....so I'm not sure if the things I'm noticing are issues, or just normal :)

Thanks :)

- Sue

if you can feel every bump, thats usually a firmer suspension. However since its a convertible it may be a little less "tight" because of chassis flex. I believe the pre-07 coopers S's have a burble from the exhaust. The UK turbo version has it too but they removed it from ours =(.

I went from an '03 MC to an '06 MCS, and that putt putt (aka Gurgle) is perfectly normal...some crazy kids like me will press, then release the throttle just to hear the gurgle...my friends want to kill me for this jerky driving motion. Sometimes you can even hear it Pop.
Feeling more road bumps is perfectly normal too....and I gotta agree with SPDinNY, your probably experiencing chasi flex or it could be tires. I find that My Runflats feel squishy until i have less tread on them.
The lower gas mileage is normal too...I was getting about 34-36 MPG in my MC, now i get 25ish...i think it may be due to me driving more spiritedlyhmm
