Usually, at this time of the year, I would be driving around the country and racing at a variety of tracks doing the Cannonball One Lap of America. I raced a grey and white MCS sponsored by Dan and the great folks at Towne in the 2004 and 2006 event, but, unfortunately, I am not doing the event this year. I have done the One Lap each year since '98 in a variety of different cars.
Most importantly, though, I have used racing as an excuse to raise funds as 'Donor Recovery Racing' and have donated over $ 90,000 towards organ donation and transplant.
Each year we've had a benefit party and this year the event will be Fri May 18th from 4 - 7 pm at the Brio Bistro on Monroe Ave. in Rochester.
There is a $ 20 charge at the door, and alot of free food, a live band, beer and wine, and tons of great silent auction stuff .
Proceeds go to benefit the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network - the organ procurement organization connected with the Univ. of Rochester.
So - shine up those Coopers and bring them out to the Brio. I can't wait to see you all.............
ps - Sat the 19 th is the first Genesee Valley BMW Club autocross at the Batavia go-cart track. It's tons of fun and we have a crew of greawt instructors - Come Out For That too.............
