Isn't this great MOTORCYCLE weather? Wouldn't ya just know that the last cold snap was just enough to kill my bike battery deader than a doornail? If I didn't have the Mini, I'd really be upset, but I'll just wait til next riding season to shell out another hundred or so for another battery. The Mini is benefiting other ways from this too! Spongebill Squarecar got a wash and wax in the driveway over this last weekend, and I think it actually stuck its tongue out at the poor dead Kawasaki sulking in the corner of the garage! Oh well, can't win 'em all, I guess! Dave, have you tried the "Amherst Pizza and Ale House" yet? Great brews, some of which are from Ellicottville. Nice menu, too. Happy Motoring, Bill aka "Cogman"
Cath, I think that YES, you should have, and I should have too! If you are at Towne and don't call me, I will be upset for real! I'll be there Tuesday morning with Spongebill Squarecar, by the way. I can't believe it, but I can't seem to find my winter hubcaps! I thought I put them in the cellar or the garage, but NOooo... I hate the look of the car without them, and those corny black steel wheels! They were the "official" Mini ones, too! Well, at least I know where the snow tires are. Looks like it will be an "in-garage" installation for me as I look at what's coming down outside my window! Old Man Winter seems to definitely have arrived...now where the hell are my boots?
Cogman.. you should live here.. sunshine, blue sky and 60 degrees...... We don't mind letting you get all the snow...... Happy St. Andrews day... (yesterday). Our pipe band went out last night after practice and had HAGIS at the local tavern.

Bill, I usually get my tires changed at a local foreign car specialist here in downtown Rochester (Craig Autometric). But hey, if you want to meet for Dinosaur BBQ, come on down! (If you get to the eastern suburbs, you've gone too far...)
I'm not saying I bought this house specifically because there's a good place to store my tires, but it was a factor! (No garage, though there's space to put one if I ever decide to.)
I got the tires from Tire Rack, and I got a second set of Mini wheels and Continental tires from another Mini owner who had upgraded her wheels and had never used them. ($400 for 4 wheels and tires). So I ordered Dunlop M2s from Tire Rack, had them delivered to Craig Autometrics (downtown on East Ave, near the Little Theater) and they mounted and balanced them for me. The Dunlop M2s are now discontinued, but there's a lot of other good snow tires out there, and the new Dunlops are pretty good from what I've heard.
Thanks... I think the mini is going to see some winter driving this year.. so just looking a head... maybe we won't have snow again this winter... But I am afraid we are due for a bunch....
