The New (redesigned) Mini

Folks,
Here is a link to the latest scoop on the redesigned Mini that will meet pedestrian impact rules in Europe. From what you can see, it looks pretty good! Check out: http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/10/01/mini_cooper_paris/index.html
Here is a link to a video explaining new features: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/AutoshowArticles/articleId=116970

I'm on the fence with this. I really, REALLY do not like the black out plastic that's all over the S. The Cooper held up better in this regard. I also have SERIOUS issues with the fake hood scoop in the S.

Worse, is that in the EU, is that cars have to be made safe to hit people. It's nanny state gone out of control. I would think that the big issue with being hit by a car is, well, the CAR, not things like exposed windsheild wiper blades, or the tires being too close to the edge of the car.

That's why I'm extra glad I have an 02. It's the 'Frank Stepenson' model.
