Pooley Party Aug. 19

Now that Randy is no longer holding his world famous Pulley Parties our driveway has been a rather dull place.
The neighborhood is quiet.
Even the police rarely drive by.

In order to maintain a sense of balance and replenish the good Karma that only a driveway full of MINI's can bring
Laurie and I invite all of our motoring friends to a pool party and Picnic On August 19th starting at 1:00 PM. Rain or shine.

WE ask that attendees bring a dish to.
We will be providing hot dogs burgers and the pool.

Please post to this thread to let us know if you will be attending and what you will be bringing.

We are located a short 10 minute drive from the Queenston Bridge in Lewiston, NY

Directions can be found here: http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~empson/ppdir/ppdir.htm

Cheers,
Jack and Laurie

I hope to be there- will have a house closing sometime around then, but don't know for sure yet.

Looks like there will be some folks coming from out of town that weekend to the Finger Lakes run, so I will check with the folks coming from the west to see if they want to stop in Lewiston on their way through.

Here's hoping the weather is as nice as the last 2 years were that weekend!

Mr. BEAN and I should be there. I'll see if my husband wants to be in the company of "MINIs". You see he is a "Vette" owner*.

Cindy, I think it's about an hour and a half from here to there- pretty simple to get to. Looks like I'll have folks coming from Texas & Chicago to the Finger Lakes run, so I may try to meet them on their way in to detour to Lewiston, or if they're staying here I'll bring them along. (Mini caravan!)

Dave, what are we stuffing with pineapple? :)

Will have to ponder the menu choices for what to bring, but let me know if there's something needed.

Looks like the early weather reports are favorable. I'm hoping to meet up with the folks coming from Chicago & Milwaukee at the Pooley party, as they're making their way to the Finger Lakes Run.

Looks like you might still need beverages- so I'll stock up at Wegmans Coke sale & bring a cooler & ice.

As YMNY said, we are coming in from Milwaukee and Chicago for the Finger Lakes Run. If traffic and weather cooperate, we may get in two events for the $$ of one! Rather than pack something, we'll give a call when we get close and see what you need, OK?

Thanks again for the invite, Jack and Laurie. Hope to see all of you tomorrow!

Here's hoping there will be more shining than raining! Write Stuff, see you & Tsukiji tomorrow!

Jack & Laurie, let me know if there is anything you need. I hope to leave Rochester around 1, if I can get everything for Sunday squared away before then.

See you tomorrow!

Thanks, Laurie and Jack, for hosting the great time we all had yesterday! 14 MINIs in 1 driveway! Thanks, Cathleen, for navigating us to my first win on a Poker Run, and not minding the trash in my car. Thanks, Anja and Martin for liking the Dave's Pineapple Suffing (even though I got home and realized I had only put in half the amount of pineapple required to make it truly great). Thanks, Duncan, for the road tunes (your best effort yet, I think). Thanks, Bob, for moving your MINI so I could get out. Thanks, Ann & Mark, for showing up to your first event, and being such nice people. Thanks, everybody else (I can only remember some of your names, and don;t want the rest of you to know I don't) for being such an entertaining bunch!

I had a blast!

Jack, here's the link to Light In Sight, which is the place I got my little lens that static-clings to the windshield. It allows you to be the first car in the intersection and see the traffic light without straining your neck. Best mod I've made yet!

Thanks to Jack & Laurie, for hosting such a great event, and the poker run was a lot of fun. Winning was certainly unexpected! (Dave, I was wondering Friday what year it was when I last vacuumed my car, so not to worry...) Thanks to all who came, it was nice to see everyone & I wish I could have stayed longer, but with another day of driving ahead it was good to get home. Next time I'll bring my tent! :)

The coolers have been emptied, the empties have been taken back to the store,
the smiley flag has been taken down, and another page has been written into WNY/SOMC MINI lore.

Laurie and I want to thank all of our motoring friends for braving raindrops, long drives, and the border to attend the Pooley party.

It is always such a pleasure seeing everyone, and we want those that could not attend to know that they were missed.

Special thanks goes out to:

John for bringing that wonderful cake.

To Mix Master “D” for another great cd (I always wonder where he finds some of those tunes, a country version of The Wall too funny).

Bryce and Ryan for sitting out in the rain to hand out poker run cards.

Everyone that brought all those amazing foods. The best part of events like this is to get to taste so many new things.

Congrats go out to Dave and Cathleen, winners in the poker run.

Once again thanks to everyone that came out and made our party such a special event.

Cheers,
Jack and Laurie
