See you there!
Which day is it the topic says 4/26 and the message says 4/24.
There is more to the story than that: 4/26 from 7-10pm
Dan from Towne MINI called me to invite the MINI Club of WNY members to be one of three guests to attend the meeting with Genessee Valley Car Club. There will be 2 other guests.
1. Brock Yates (racer) 2. Bill Milliken (92 year old racer from Watkins Glen) 3. MINI Club of WNY members
They are looking for participants to attend the meeting. If you have a "souped up" MINI and would like to present it at the meeting with a little talk please feel free to attend. Dan would like the members of MINI Club of WNY to participate in the meeting. Topics include:
Autocross Batavia Go-Cart Race Track Special MINI day other events
Let's have a good attendance and show the GV BMW Car Club how much we love our MINIs!

Welcome! Sorry I didn't get to send you an email - I went to my training, met a friend at the Park-n-Ride in LeRoy, the car idled for a couple of minutes and then blew antifreeze everywhere!!!! I got towed back to Towne after waiting on the side of the road for 2 hours, they found my fan was burned up. Tow man also ripped the car up by the front and the control arms may be bent too. Got home after 9pm when I broke down at 4pm...
Back on topic, when we all went to the benefit for Dan we met at the Henrietta Thruway exit - sound good to do it again? Or would everyone prefer taking the local route say down Route 5????

Babs and I will attempt to be there. Milliken is a personal friend of mine. My father was his racing mechanic. He, I believe, will turn 95 on the 18th of this month, but couldn't be sharper! A truly unique individual with a great sense of humor. I hope they let him speak. Cogman P.S. That Bill Gray Hamburger place across the street is really not bad!
It's just dawned on me that I'm supposed to be working that evening, instead of during the day. Damn. I'll look into changing shifts with someone else, but doesn't look too hopeful.
I am excited as it looks like we will have a good turn out. It would be great if Dan Ives was able to rally more MINI owners than BMW owners
We (GVC BMW CCA) will be giving away at least one free driver school entry (not sure if it will be WGI or Mosport).
BTW, I am looking to meet people as I need info for my Roundel column on the MINI - Bimmer Lite. I can make you famous!!!
To answer an earlier quesiton, you do not need to be a GVC member, but by joining BMW CCA will get you the Roundel magazine and BMW NA gives rebates on BMWs purchased by members. We still need them to start that program on MINIs. Towne provides a 10% discount off parts to all members.
As for me, I am hoping to have the Wilwood brake kit and Quaife installed on my JCW MCS by then.
I originally had something scheduled, but it's been postponed for a few weeks, so I'll be there. I RSVP'd to Towne in response to the email they sent out. Left a message and received a call back about 10 minutes later to confirm that I'll be at the dinner.
I have a service appointment at Towne on Wednesday afternoon so I'll meet up with the Rochester MINI contingent at Towne at the GVC BMWCCA meeting. If things change I'll meet everyone at 5:30 at Exit 46.

The meeting was great - I loved the speakers, nothing like a few good laughs! Great to see some faces I knew and meet new people as well! A special Thank You to Bagpiper and the copi for keeping the bugs off my freshly washed car!
