I'm Planning a Syracuse MINI Rally On April 29 at 10 AM at Marcellus County Park in Marcellus, NY where we'll "oohh" and "ahhh" at each other's MINIs for a bit. Then we'll head out for our Rally. We will be Motoring around the curvy scenic roads around Syracuse.
Not a race, but just a chance to enjoy the coming of spring and meet the few Motorers in and around Syracuse.
At the end of our rally we'll end up at Dinosaurs BBQ where who ever wants lunch can join in (everyone covers for themselves).

Start Location: Marcellus County Park, Marcellus NY
Finish Location: Dinosaur BBQ, Syracuse NY

Jeff- Great! Look foward to having you come up
I plan on doing more rallys, the next one (May) I'm already maping out. Its start and end points are different from this one thats coming up in April, and to spice things up a little more, it'll be a different area near Syracuse..... I'll fit them around the CNY Solo Autocross schedual...but that said....do Saturdays or Sundays work better?

I'm located in the Ithaca area. Seems to be a fair number of Minis in the area, but I have only spoken with a couple of fellow owners. You can count on me and my pepper white MCS to be at the rally on the 29th. I often see fellow Mini owners  whizzing by in the opposite direction, however if I get the opportunity to actually speak with a local driver, I'll pass the word about the rally.

Would like to join in ,but have plans to go to Watkins Glen on the 29th for opening day and hook up with other MINI owners to do some laps on the track.

Definitely interested in future events.

Hey Venno & all,

Been a while since I've been to the site. Anyways we went to SCCA solo-II at the fair grounds last saturday, and saw a few minis there. We didn't enter any competitions, but it was nice seeing the other minis out there. Was anyone from this forum there? I saw an '07 yellow MCS, a grey MCS ('06 or older) and 2 red MC +MCS. We've also seen a white MCS w/a route 66 sign on the side.. Nice to see that there are some local mini-drivers!

BTW-I changed the oil in our baby, and I documented it pretty well. Not sure if anyone out there has an '07 that they are planning on doing to their own oil changes.. but if so drop me a line and I'll send out a step by step procedure. Maybe there is some way that I could post it here? I'm pretty anal when it comes to maintenance, and I could not even entertain the idea of waiting 15,000 miles to change the oil! I lasted until 1,300 on the first!

Yeah I wanted to go but i don't think i can afford new tires yet...
I'm actully right down the road from the fair grounds (Hinsdale exit off of 5 W)... but if any other's from the board are at the next solo we should go get some 'beverages' afterwerd, i know a local place (within 5 min) with easy parking and nice out door sitting or there is syracuse and the establishments there....

Yeah, I think special wheels and tires woudl help. Our baby is too new for me to consider autocrossing, but maybe next year! I'm always game for some beverages!

Well, I missed it.

But I would have loved to know about this sooner. I live 6 miles from Marcellus. I have been looking for all the MINIacs around Syracuse. I know they're out there; I've seen them on my commute every day. Hopefully we'll meet soon enough!

Alright, so Jon me and another MINI owner are going to meet at Empire Brewery (its below sound garden and across from Blue Tusk in Downtown Syracuse) We'll be figuring out some stuff so we can create a more established Syracuse MINI group (ie buisness card type things to leave on other MINIs, future rallies)... Venno, not sure I can make it to the Empire Brewery tomorrow night. Great to hear that the Empire is open again! I recall stopping there a few times about ten year ago. Has it been that long? Hope to see you at MOT.

If the weather is forcast is for so-so weather, you can count me in, but if it's to be sunny & warm I'll be on my bicycle saturday morning. I can drive my Mini anytime, but beautiful summer days are a limited commodity so I must take advantage when I can.
