I go every year. We usually camp by Seneca lodge. I was gonna bring my classic mini this year, but my plans have changed and the car is being sold. Anyway, it's a great event that everyone should try to attend.
I think we should be able to drive around the track between races.
I got an email from Watkins Glen International today that they are offering a $35 weekend admission package, parade laps for Minis on Saturday, 9/7 staging starting around 4:30 pm, laps at 5:15 with a photoshoot at 7 pm. Is there any interest for this? :)
Sounds like a lot of fun! Do you know if the $35 is per car or per person? I am interested in the photo shoot and mini parade laps. My ability to do this will depend some on my unknown clinical schedule for school.
Greetings from Erie. We ordered our tickets in mid June at $45.00 a person. Tickets arrived last Friday. Driving up with another Erie Mini Friday afternoon. Staying in Painted Post. Do we qualify for anything else?

The WGI offer says discounted weekend admission, infield access and parade laps for Minis on Saturday evening. I emailed the events coordinator to see if you'd need to be registered to participate in the parade laps (either through WGI or Mini of Rochester- not sure if these registrations are the same or through each organization). I'll let you know what I find out!
If I can go, it will probably be a short visit Saturday afternoon, just long enough to see a few Minis, and to finally take the blue Countryman over the railroad tracks!
Was at the Glen from about 3:30 Friday afternoon until 4:00 Saturday afternoon. Had a tremendous time, no surprise, and, believe it or not. GREAT WEATHER. Maybe only five drops of rain. Did not see anybody I knew but on Saturday did see a Mini with a New York "BAGPIPER" license plate.
There was a Mini tent in the town of Watkins Glen. Tried to enter Friday afternoon. Was challenged. Stated I owned a Mini for several years and presented my keys. I guess it was by invitation only. Hmmm!
Some pictures may follow.

For anyone interested in seeing what this event was all about, watch the video I took with a GoPro from the roof of my MINI! It was a BLAST. Obviously there was more to the weekend than just a couple laps for us MINIacs, but hey, this was my highlight!!!
