Should be interesting to see exactly where they will fit it in. It is a rather busy section of West Henrietta Road!

Hummm. Wonder what they are up to. What I find interesting is the mention of moving the entrance. That area already has two entrances to the same lot.

Mercedes is moving out of their building in the next couple of months. They have not spoken about the plans for it but wonder.....

Wonder if they would be willing to host a meeting with the local MINI owners to discuss their plans?

I was in Henrietta this morning and decided to run past the Dorschel location. They already have a sign up announcing the MINI franchise at the building they intend to use.

Point well taken. But still, it would have been nice, especially after the accident! We had to drive back to Buffalo 4 times to get it fixed properly. I will admit that although it's nice to have a MINI dealership in Jax, they're really not all that great at customer service, either.

I have a meeting tomorrow with one of the managers to talk about the MINI opening and their interface with the club. Let's see what develops.

Sounds awesome! I'm especially interested since I drive by it to work every day. Would be nice to see more club interaction here in Rochester with the dealer too.

I'm definitely interested in getting more involved in planning & producing events. Even though my garage is like a mini MINI meet every day, it's just not enough. biggrin

Quick meeting with Dorschel to discuss the new MINI franchise. Here is the summary:

To set expectations properly they don't expect to be open for business until late May or June. There is a lot of construction planned for the building they intend to use. Big plans that seem to include tearing off the current roof and raising it up another story to provide a dramatic open space. They don't seem to have a lot down to dates, just plans and no targeted opening date.

They do seem to be interested in arranging some type of owners event once things get further along. I talked to them about some sort of meet and greet with a bunch of Rochester MINI owners. They liked that idea.

I'll make a reminder to contact them again say April and see if they have a set opening date and are ready to start planning anything.

Helle Everyone!

My name is Mike Hostutler and I will be one of the Salesmen at the new MINI of Rochester. I started here at Dorschel this week and I will be based out of the used car center until the dealership opens. If you guys have any questions at all feel free to ask.

Just a little bit of news, It looks like we will have a booth at this years Auto Show. I will be there the majority of the time so please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself.

We aren't holding an on-site news conference, but throughout the day, reporters may want reactions from MINI owners. Damn, too bad it's been delayed. stopped and got the car washed this morning so it would look good for the pictures.

At this year's Rochester International Auto Show MINI of Rochester will be signing people up for a chance to win a FREE 2 YEAR LEASE, of a MINI. The drawing will happen at our grand opening in June. We will also be signing peopel up for a chance to win a weekend test drive of a MINI, which is great if you are planning a trip, you can put the miles on one of our cars instead of your own.

The Auto Show hours are the following

2012 Auto Show Schedule:
Thursday, March 1st - 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Friday, March 2nd - 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday, March 3rd - 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

You can see where they are digging for the foundation of the new parts of the building and where they are pushing out the walls to expand the shop area.
