I have a 2005 convertible and after storage for the winter, I noticed a puddle under the car. I did some investigation online and found that many of the 2004-2005's had an issue with their power steering pumps and a clue is a leaking car (there are many others, the info is easily available online; the worst that can happen is that is is VERY hard to steer.) I took it to MINI of Rochester and had my suspicions confirmed. It is an expensive fix, approximately $1000 plus. Literally days later, I got a letter from MINI USA, offering warranty extension coverage for power steering repair! MINI of Rochester filed the paperwork for me (basically my title, my license, and copies of all the receipts) and I will get a check for full reimbursement of all repairs, from the dealership. Woo-hoo! So, if you get this letter, or if not and have a 2004-2005, please be aware...
