I could not find a thread involving the Towne sponsered Mini Event with Genesee Valley. I understand that Batavia is out and Seneca Depot is in. September 19, 2010. Is there any interest in a caravan? Racing starts early so the nearly 2 hour trip will have to start around sunrise. Perhaps a stop at the Miss Batavia for breakfast. If there is any interest, post your reply. Or, direct me to the place where more information can be found on this topic.
I got the e-mail from Towne announcing the AutoCross race date. Is there any interest in driving down as a group?
I think it's weather dependent. Although getting the Mini out to stretch it's legs for a 2 hour ride would be great, there is no reason to go if it's raining.
Please consider where and when you would like to meet before heading out.
Bob Evan's at Transit Road, might work.

Now i'm upset. This is one event that is a must on my to-do list. The date is the same day as the Axeman motorcycle club charity ride. It's for the burn kids of the area and we have other affiliate Axeman members from around the country coming to Rochester for this.
With that said I wish all of you that attend the Towne event a very safe fun filled day. And make sure someone takes pictures or it didn't happen. :)

Even if it is raining come on out. You will learn twice as much about driving in the wet as in the dry.
Besides, misery loves company!
If you come, remember sun screen and water. SEAD is an airport runway and we will have portapottys but thats the closest to a modern convenience at the site.

Is there any interest in all of going to race this year? I got the directions and plan on leaving early Sunday morning. I have not seen any interest from Towne people or WNY Mini people about going down to race.

I will be going. If my daugther Lauren is going, her & her sister can leave from Rochester, and I can go straight there. If Lauren is not going, I have to stop @ RIT & pick-up Diana.

The weather forecast for Sunday looks like a beautiful fall day. Come on out and enjoy what may very well be the last time for autocross at Seneca Army Depot. We have heard lots of stories from the Army is coming back to it will be John Travolta's private airfield next year.
Be there! Lots of MINIs will make it a great day!

Ok, I know its last minute, did I read the site correct that it is free for MINI drivers? I would liek to meet up. Just coming from Fort Drum. If interested or have more info, I can be reached quickest at indieblue03coopers @ Yahoo.com or by text at 864-884-3458. Thanks yall. Phillip
Ok, after looking at everything, its Free thanks to Towne MINI. I will be there, will caravan with others that are interested coming from north of Syracuse. Just let me know. Good night yall. Phillip
Yes Phillip, MINI's motor for free. Diana will be home Saturday night, so we will be leaving from the Buffalo area. I am fine with meeting @ Bob Evans on Transit by the thruway. Working backwards; Arrival @ SEAD between 8 & 8:30 2 hr drive, Leave restaurant by 6:15 @ the latest. What is your guess to meet @ the restaurant? 5ish?
Coffee & Muffins are fine, but Diana can't have any gluten, so something @ home or a restaurant stop would be in order.

As of 7:00 PM on Saturday, I figure on leaving from my home (near Bob Evans) about 6:30. I will cruise through the parking lot of the restaurant to see if there are any Mini's there. Right now, I figure to leave home with a coffee and grab a bite along the Thruway. I can put my walkie talkie on say (channel 6) to see if anyone is out there looking to caravan a little. That's the best I've got so far. See you there if not before. PNF444

Ok pnf444. We are not going to be able to meet @ Bob Evans. It is just a little to early for us. Being in Alden, that is a little backtracking. We will just leave from our house, & take 20 all the way across.

Oh, I never thought Alden. That is stupid to come back. I'll see you there. I figure the Thruway all the way. Try the walkie talkie, if you've got one. PNF444

Address? Punch in Senca Army Depot and Google will find it. The place is huge and the airport is on the Western, Southern side of the property. I believe it's Route 96A. Good luck, see you there.

For those that did not make it to SEAD yesterday it was dry. Although, thanks to the early morning sprinkle and the farmer just down the road we all ended up with cars that looked like we had been on a back road rally. Quite a job to get the mud/manure off the car last night.
Twelve MINIS with 14 drivers showed up and all had a good time. Six runs were made and everyone was on their way home by 3:30 in the afternoon. Sad to say the sun did not actually come out of hiding until we got just north of Geneva on the way home.
Many thanks to Towne MINI for sponsoring the event! Looking forward to 2011 already.

But really, with the sun behind the clouds, it was almost a perfect weather day. The track had a lot of grip but I was loose in and tight out... (sounds like NASCAR).
It really was a fine day and yes, the road mud and manure was really a bitch to get off the car Tuesday night!
Thanks to all that went and Towne for the sponsorship.
