It is that time of the year again for MINI Club of WNY annual MINI Road Rally. This will be our 8th!!!! Last year we celebrated our 7th in conjunction with the 50th birthday of the Mini Cooper. We had a great turnout and rally. This year should be no different.
The date is set for June 12. As in the past we hold our road rally in the month of June and on a Saturday morning. The rally has a start point and end point. This year the rally will be different from last year. A set route with questions along the way. 25 questions in all and the route has to be followed in order to answer questions. The questions are easy but tricky.
So mark your calendars for June 12 starting @ 8am for our 8th annual MINI Road Rally. More information will be coming so keep watching this post. Welcome back in 2010 and hope to see you at our MINI Road Rally.

Didn't it start later in the day last year? Was that because it was hooked up with Towne MINI due to the special 50th Anniversary celebration?
In any case, last year was my first year, too, and had a great time. (Though, I'm still waiting for the answers to be posted, hint, hint... ) I hope I can make it again this year!
Registration always begins @ 8am. Driving school is @ 9am and the first car takes off @ 10am. MINI Club of WNY is not at liberty to post the answers on the web. Many of these rallys are "recycled" and the writers do not want us to post questions and answers in a public forum. Sorry, but we are glad to see that you had a good time. This year the rally will be in a different forum. More info will be coming. Hope to see everyone of June 12th!!! MINI Club of WNY
I can't wait! This will be our first year. There are not alot of mini's down in my area so it'll be nice to see so many all together! Really looking forward to this. :)
We'll have to give it a try this year. It's been a few years since we attended and I've missed it. The only possible fly in the ointment: I'm planning to go down to Cleveland for The PUB Meet the weekend before. Hopefully I can convince my Better Half to ride along for two MINI weekends in a row! (not a problem for me)
Our 8th Annual MINI Road Rally production is in full force. Unlike last year there will only be one trophy and that is for 1st place. Last year was a special event with the celebration of the 50th birthday of the Mini Cooper. There will still be a prize for 2nd place and 3rd place.
Open registration will begin on May 1st. If you plan on attending our 8th annual MINI Road Rally you have the option of pre-registering by sending a check for $15.00 to:

The rally will start @ TOWNE MINI and will end in Emery Park @ shelter #3.
So get the wax out and polish up that MINI after the winter and head on down to Towne MINI for our 8th Annual MINI Road Rally and a chance to win on June 12 @ 8am sharp. More info will be forthcoming.

Our 8th annual MINI Road Rally will be held on Saturday, June 12 beginning @ 8am @ Towne MINI. The rally will take 2 hours to complete ending @ Emery Park @ Shelter #3. There you will be able to eat lunch while the answers are be tallied and a winner is determined. There is a country deli across the street where they have sandwiches and other things to eat for lunch. Also you may want to pack a cooler with a lunch and drinks for your pleasure. The rally is run in rain or shine. There is no rain date. We take weather into consideration.
If you plan on attending the road rally you will need 2 people and your MINI. One person is the driver and the second is the navigator. Children are allowed to ride along in the back seat but only 2 adults per MINI. More adults will give an unfair advantage to the contestant. At the beginning, after driving school you will be given a set of instructions for the route and 25 questions that are answered along the way. The winner is determined by the number of correct answers. In the event of a tie the shortest distance is the tie breaker. There are many types of rallies but this one seems to be the favorite. Anyone can do a rally so if you have never done one before you need not worry, you should be able to accomplish this and have loads of fun doing it.
The will be 3 winners to the rally:
1st place receives a trophy, plaque, and a $50.00 gift certificate to Towne MINI. 2nd place will receive "MINI The Book" 3rd place will receive a Halogen maplight.
There are other prizes for various reasons and door prizes too. So everyone has a chance to win! (Even for the person who comes in dead last. (POR) award).
Let's all meet on June 12 @ Towne for our 8th annual MINI Road Rally and have a great time with our MINI and MINI friends!!!

Only 3 weeks til our 8th Annual MINI Road Rally! This may be the year for you to win the "big" one. Registration @ the door will be $20.00 and pre-registration is $15.00. There will be door prizes and other prizes to win so even if you are not so lucky to win at the rally there is always a chance at something. Remember in order to participate in the rally you will need a driver and a navigator. If you have never done a rally you shouldn't worry. Most of the particpants are first-timers at some point. Most of the winners have been "first-timers". Don't forget to pack a lunch or bring cash to purchase goodies near the park. Towne MINI will be providing munchies in the morning and everyone who participants in the rally will receive a dash plaque. So get out the Armour-All and Johnson wax and detail your MINI and head on down to Towne MINI on June 12 @ 8am for our 8th Annual MINI Road Rally. Should be great!!
Diane; At least 1 of our Mini's will be there. Still unsure if the other will be there. Forgot to mail the check before leaving for vacation last week. I will pay the $20 or $40 @ Towne on Sat. Just letting you know for head count purposes.
Rob

We have just done a test run on the rally and all we can say is WOW! It was quite a trip. We saw countryside that we had never seen before and didn't even know existed. It is going to be a fun rally. We would also like to add that even if you had never done a rally before you can still do this one. You don't need to know the area, it wouldn't do you any good because you go around everywhere and have to follow a select route. There are many hills and valleys, just like riding a roller coaster so if you have a tendency to motion sickness may we suggest taking something for it before you start. MINI Club of WNY wants everyone to have a great time on the rally.
Our 8th annual MINI Road Rally begins this Saturday @8am @ Towne MINI. In the morning after registration there will be a MINI breakfast for the participants. You will have time to meet other MINI owners and do a little socializing. @ 9am Driving School starts. Usually outdoors weather permitting. This is where you will get instructions on how to do the rally and a great time to ask questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There will plenty of people to answer any questions you may have. The rally will take you to Emery Park @ shelter #3. During the rally there will be 25 questions to answer along the way and these are very important because the one with the most answers right wins the rally. Mileage will be the tie breaker.
At the park you will have an opportunity to have your lunch. As we said earlier lunch is on your own. There are grills at the park so you can pack a lunch and grill up hotdogs and hamburgers if you like or you can pack sandwiches. There is a conveinence store done the street for munchies. During lunch after everyone has arrived the answer sheets are collected and graded. A winner is determined. There are other prizes too so don't get discouraged if you do not get 1st.
So let's head on down to Towne MINI in Williamsville for our 8th Annual MINI Road Rally this Saturday morning on June 12 to partake in a great adventure touring WNY.
See ya' and LET'S MOTOR.
