Winnie's replacemant

bought an 01 BMW M3. It is a wee bit more powerful than my Mini was and has the correct wheels driving it LOL. It should be alot of fun and maybe I will take it to a Mini event or something following my wife in her Mini =).

dont wanna have monthly payments. Before my mini i used to have average 10 cars at all times. now i have nothing to work on. i cannot afford a winter project car. i wanna build cars but i cant with the mini. it restricts me with so much. just the truth. once i get rid of the 09 ill be buying a classic mini and putting a hayabusa engine in it. i like older cars. i also cannot afford to move outta my moms house and i get all these business opportunities i have to turn down cause i cannot fly anywhere with no $$. theres way more then one reason. also the new 09 S models are having all these issues with the engine. from what i read BMW cannot and wont recall the issue because its a hit and miss thing. some minis have it and some dont.

cold start issues, and Diesel sounding engine. i dont know to much about it to be honest , i just know its a issue. and i dont want to deal with it in the future. and like i said its only 1 reason why im selling the mini. I dont like the ecu in the mini either. i want to start building a drag car. If i get a newer mini it will be a r53. something that can be upgraded easily.

I think that it was primarily the "S". Tedscar and I have "justacoopers", and we have not experienced that issue.

OK, late to this party, but congrats Mark! Hope you like the BMW.

VB--sorry to have you leave the MINI pack but understand your reasons. I think your idea of rebuilding a classic MINI is great. Wished I had some skills to offer and was closer, but it sounds like a great project.

As for the MINI issues, Holly's right. So far, knock on whatever density material of your choosing, have had no probs with the MINI--winter or summer. Oh sure, there was the time we couldn't get up the driveway last year 'cuz it was glazed with ice, but I can't really blame the MINI for that.

Pepper your car is a previous generation so it wouldn't matter anyways. but yes it seems it is a turbo car issue.

its only the S models that do it from 07 up. i wont be leaving the pack. i will be getting a classic and driving that to all the meets. Thats the plan. Plus i wont be selling the mini prolly till may- juneish.

Hi Guys
A lot of R56 owners are having that early morning diesel rattle on their cars.
A good example can be found on       You Tube -   R56 Noisey engine.
Dealers in Canada are dealing with this problem on an individual basis.
No recall at this time.
Cheers
Mike

Mark, Nice set of wheels!

VB the Classics are Really something else, each has its own little personality, Im sure you'll bond with it like i did with mine. From searching around the hayabusa engine looks like a blast! I was thinking of one of the Big-bore 1380 Engines offered by MINImania since those i could put in 'lil and still have her keep her class (ie not need to put a roll cage etc inside the nice original leather interior)

haha. yea. im looking mainly for the shell. if i got hayabusa 1300cc then it will need a new rear end and be RWD from what ive been researching. which i am totally down for. otherwise i can go Vtec engine. Id just love to have a hayabusa mini. So fast and they sound crazy. i just cant find a old mini shell that isnt perfectly restored. idk where to search past NAM,ebay, and craigslist.
