I'm hungry for a rematch, VB!!! Who else is interested in the Amazing Maize Maze? Last year, we split into two groups to compete as to who can find their way through the Amazing Maize Maze at Long Acre Farms in Macedon, NY (South/East of Rochester). This year's theme is "Music to our ears". Below is the website you can view the maze as well as the other fun activities.

http://www.longacrefarms.com/AmazingMaizeMazePage.asp

It is getting cooler outside, so I would suggest we plan for either this weekend or next weekend. Price is $10 per person, and the Maze is open from 10-4 on Saturday and Sunday. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour or two to get through the maze, depending on how good/lucky you are! Sunday actually works better for me as well, as I have my horseback riding lessons on Saturdays.

There's also a really fun bounce pillow (I can't believe that we didn't go on it last year...VB, you'll have a blast on that), a big slide, and a hay ride, amongst other activities. Last year we rewarded ourselves for a job well done by going to Schutt's Cider Mill and getting some of the best donuts and cider on earth.

Let me know if you're interested, as well as what weekend would work for you.

This looks like a lot of fun!  I'm interested.

Looking at the maze, though, where do you exit?  Do you go out the same way you enter?

I have to be at work at 3 pm, but would meet up for the early part of the day, and of course the ducks want to go!

I'm in. As long as I can get someone to cover my shift. It'll be my first meet!

Next Sunday would probably work better for me too. Gives me more time to find someone to work for me.

I just double checked the website, and it's not open past October 31st, so it's this Sunday or bust. I promise that I'll do a better job next year of planning ahead. So who's in for this Sunday?

I am going with the student association that I advise the Corn Maze in Hilton on Saturday night (in the dark eyepopping.gif). If you can't make it on Sunday and would like to come with us you're all more than welcome to! We will have a group discount, so it will be $6/person.

There is another option!

This Saturday I've organized an outing to Screamer's Hollow in Sterling NY.  (Where the renaissance fair is during the summer.)

http://www.screamershollow.com/

There will be several different haunted attractions and live music.

It started out as an outing for people at work, but others have shown interest and so now it's just kind of exploded from there.  The plan is to leave from my place of employment though - approx 4:30 from Brighton Eggert Animal Clinic in Tonawanda.

The attractions run from 7 to midnight and the plan is to grab a bite on the road on the way there and leave for home when we get bored or it closes, whichever comes first.  I'd love to have a bunch more Minis to drive with.

That looks like so much fun! Too bad I have the work thing on Saturday, maybe I'll try to persuade Mark to go tomorrow night. biggrin

My birthday is exactly 2 Sundays from tomorrow (Nov 8).

I think for my birthday I would like a fast drive on a good road in my Mini with cool people also driving Minis.

How that for a good enough excuse?  :)

Still contemplating options for next weekend. We have tentative plans that may fall through. If so, I/we could be up for a MINI adventure...

Despite it being the 8th wonder of the world and only 40 minutes away, I have never visited Niagara Falls.

There appear to be some nice scenic roads up around the falls as well, particularly on the Canada side.

Another option is Allegany.  I've never been there either.  :)

Curling season has started. I help out on Sunday afternoons sometimes, so I am not as available. This weekend would have been good. I am busy the next 2 weekends.
The drive along the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie to Niagara on the lake is a scenic drive.
The speed limit is restrictive, but a nice drive non the less.

The Falls are even better during the festival of lights in the Christmas season.

There should be plenty of twisties in Allegany as well. That is in Kim's backyard.
