First off I want to thank Mitch for the help. Here is a thought where else can two total strangers entice 17 other total strangers to get together for a long drive to wineries, but in the world of Miniacs? YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!! Thank you all for your support.
Please consider this run for next year and hope fully you all will consider future runs I have up my sleeve.

Yeah. We had a good time last year. I think the itinerary was a little ambitious, as we didn't get to all of the wineries on the list. Maybe start on the other side of the lake to catch the ones we missed last year.

This sounds like a good idea. Or we could also go to Seneca instead, or do the Canandaguia Lake ones.
Maybe a new thread should be started? Good idea to start organizing early, or maybe for those of us who don't mind driving in the winter we could go sooner to avoid crowds.
Though I didn't sample or buy any wines, I'd love to do it again, and mixing it up with different wine country locations would be great. For my money, I think WNY backroads with winery or other stops can't be beat. Count me / us in!
Well I guess the first step is to decided if we want to do a winter wine tour or work on planning something for spring?
Any wineries that anyone really loves and would particularly love to go to?
We can finish off Keuka and start on the East side. As we wouldn't be trying to get all the way to Dr. Frank's we wouldn't run into a crowd at the end of the day, and being the off season we probably won't really see anyone else at the wineries anyway.
The Canandaigua lake trail isn't one of the most exciting (winery wise) trails but the drive from Canandaigua to Naples is one of the more beautiful drives in the area.
Seneca has awesome wineries one after another (we would not go to nearly all of them, scale back the number from last year) so there is a lot to choose from. The drive over would be fun, but after that it would be fraternizing and driving down a straight road for a couple miles to the next winery.
I have never stopped at any of the wineries on the Cayuga Lake wine trail, but I would love to, seems like it is the same situation as Seneca. I have not been but I have had many of the wines from that trail and they are outstanding.
Or we can do combo trails between Keuka/Seneca or Seneca/Cayuga if there are wineries near each other that you are interested in.
Perhaps it would be fun to drive 14 south hit the better wineries on that side of the lake and either end up at the Rooster fish restaurant or the family diner in Watkins glen or go to the state park for a picnic. What are your thoughts?
I like that idea. Lots of great wineries to pick from on the road. We know we all fit into Rooster Fish, and/or we can do picnic would depend on the weather.
Another place would be Red Newt Bistro, which is part of Red Newt Winery.
This is on the other side of Seneca Lake about 10 miles out. So we could stop at 1-2 on the way down Seneca Lake and then stop at a restaurant in Watkins Glen (Rooster Fish), or at the Red Newt Bistro and stop at another 1-2 on the way up the other side of the lake. Would be a lot of driving and not so many wineries. Start in Canandaigua (with a meet up point for people coming from Geneva way, finish in Geneva where people can go back to Canandaigua or pick up on the thruway.
Nothing set in stone yet. Any suggestions as to when people would like to do this?
Chocolate and wine in Feb. http://senecalakewine.com/jc/content/view/13/32/ ?
Also could have a designated MINI's go tasting day where we may not totally stay together but form "interest groups" and meet for lunch? Card run? Wine rally? Scavenger hunt?
Don't mean to be ignoring you guys, but can't provide much input at this point. If there's a Feb. thing, I or we might be able to join in but can't commit. It would be weather and other factor-dependent. But hey, that's the MINI way, right?
If we're talking about next summer, we're probably game for just about anything.
Either way, hopefully Jill and I could both attend and bring Carmen along, but that depends on what you plan (or how implement your plan).
In any event, carry on! If we can do it, we will!

Ok so as stands so far, same time as last year. Since many events are not dog friendly, let's try to make this one able to have furry friends. Dogs wouldn't be allowed in the wineries, but we could have a picnic lunch at a park that does allow them?
Might be able to DRAG Maureen out with MiniMo for this year. :)

Sounds like a great idea, Mitch! Nice of you to accomodate us. Carmen's barely been in Ted's car yet, not 'cuz she's not allowed, just 'cuz we haven't had much occasion. But we're looking forward to tooling around with our mini dog...She kind of reminds me of a paper towel tube, with legs and a head! (I must say, she is fitting into our lives very well!)
We look forward to a wine & dine that's dog-friendly--sounds like great fun!
I am in the process of putting lowering springs , sway bar, and front shock tower bar on , so we may also make sure that there are good roads in volved as well, just a thought. :)
Good roads and a lap around the old track, if I remember correctly, can't be in the same event. Other than that it would be nice pavement as far as I know.
